Ok i got this years results.. for the 4 modules i sat... can you tell me how the grading scheme works.... i mean... each module is out of a 100 right... i know below 50 is like a 3rd.. below 60 is 2:2 and below 70 is a 2:1 and below 80 or above is a 1:1....

So given the results... of what i got... how do i calculate what i got overall for the year?

Cheers!

ohh sollie... kisshug heres another run down...

If you score anything:

< 50 you get a 3rd.. / 3:3
< 60 you get a 2nd.. / 2:2
< 70 you get a 2:1
< 80 > you get a 1:1 first...

So iof you score below 80 and just above 70 you get a first.. or if you do amazingly well like some people over 80++ then you are just blessed!

this might help kayz sweety kisshug

Add all the combined module results and divide by the number of modules and compare to your proforma in your course handbook.
Usually an overall passmark of 40% is required.

40-50 3rd
51-60 2.2
61-75 2.1
75-100 1st

Yea that's how you usually work out averages in Maths

It's different for different Universities....

There are different scales...

Your department (Info Sys, Mathematics, Law etc) you will have a MODULE GUIDE.... Get hold of the one for the 3rd and Final Year....

In there it will have the detail about how many points you get for what.... Then you can calculate what grade you got....

Normally the thresholds are around your grade thresholds...

-D to D+ = 3rd
-C to C+ = 2:2
-B to B+ = 2:1
-A to A+ = 1st

ok so im repeating

a 1st starts from 70% plus

a upper second class starts from 60%-69%

and lower second class is btwn 50% and 59%

and 40% to 49% is classed as a third

hpe dat helpful..
