anyone got a mobile phone they can recommend?

looking for a something with bluetooth/video capabilities as a minimum and no Nokia's please, dont want to jump on the bandwagon. :D

Was contemplating Sony Ericssons w800i walkman phone. Would be good if someone could point out any negatives about it.

Maybe you can recommend your own phone model if you're happy with it :)

manj, my friends have got that, apparently it freezes often (usually when u add alot of things to it) and its pretty slow - i've seen it for myself. I'm not surprised though, Nokia's are generally unreliable anyway in my opinion. Someone who's used both phones said the 6230 was less likely to be a pain than the 6230i.
Thought i'd let you know though :)

Im not a phone fan but i just keep my dads upgrades, ive got a nokia 6230i the mega pixel one. I like small phones and non filp/slide phones. Sandy i think the reason why some phones freeze if you put too much on it like with my phone is to do with the memory. Just like computers, computers need extra storage space for things to work properly, thats why its not good to use up all the space on your HD. So with phones the if you know someone who tells you that their phone freezes because theyve put too much on it, tell them to get more memory!

But i dont know alot about phones, but i'd go for a decent non nokia and samsung brand, as i think their too bland now. A Siemens phone was the first phone that really impressed me back in the days, the capabilities and the user friendliness was awesome.

If i ahd a good budget and was looknig for a mobile phone..., id go for a neat Siemens!

D600 and Nokia 6230i's are comman why get somethnig every tom dick and harry has, Sandman mate the fone you want is an MDA compact or an MDA vario both amazing phones its an PDA/phone in one with full pc functions :) iv even got sat nav on mine and supringly its not even a big phone

Its got a stylus pen for full pc use and has a 1.3 mega pixel full screen camera, excellant i have one myself

Like the Compact version it has the stylus pen but also a slide out keyboard and 1.3mega pixel camera, this one also has built in wifi amazing phone :)

Kayz - I see what you mean about the memory thing, i personally find Nokia's too unreliable anyway, one drop and you're picking up bits and pieces (in my experience). A friend of mine has the k750i and he drops it on a regular basis as if its some sort of ritual. All he gets is minor cosmetic damages, but the phone still works like new and in one piece.
Liney - Thanks for the trouble of posting up some pics, i've concluded from the start i didnt want a pda (i should've mentioned it earlier), but the 1.3 mp camera will probably be a thing of the past in a year or so, as 2mp are out already.

w800i looking more juvenile than it does in the pics, scrap that.

i dropped my nokia... thats wen it stopped workin :) ... now i use a motorola trusty phone :) .... even my samsung broke when i dropped that :( ... my phone used to freeze and i barely had anything on it... my problem was i was too fast for it and it took time to catch up .... pile of sheet

D600 looks to regular for me ... i like to be different :)

internal mem on d500 is better wid 80meg... but wid d600 u get mem stick i think its 128mb but u can expand that to 2gb sd cards

Is that a total of £160 for 6 months line rental? Or is it £4.60 per month? I'd say its a great deal if its the latter, but if thats the case, the remaining 6 months would probably be jacked up to a higher priced line rental.
Notice how you get good deals if you pay a substantial amount for line rental and then they claim the bundled stuff (like texts/minutes per month) is "free"
Anyone read about how members of parliament want phone networks to decrease their fee's for line rental and calls? Cant wait till that comes into effect...If it does.
