^ tyson had a hard life. both his parents died, then he got adopted by two boxing trainers but they died too, his wife was just after his money and took advantage of him. Don King stole his money too. He's mentally disturbed and its understandable when you see everything that he's been through. I feel sorry for him.

Ali was the greatest because he changed the world.

I guess what Tiger Woods has done for golf is pretty amazing. Imran Khan, Kapil Dev did for their countries in cricket. Brian Lara, Pete Sampras, Maradonna, Pele. Still none of them come close to Ali.

Interesting, but most people seem to see him as THE greatest so in order to say that he isnt alone you must name someone who's either better than Ali or at least parallel with him?

I see him as THE greatest because he wasn't just one of the greatest boxers of all time. He had charisma, humour and when he refused to go to Vietnam he became a great role model outside the ring as well. Obviously he had bad things about him, one being he joined the racist Nation of Islam but he turned to mainstream Islam later so thats all cool:).

muhammad ali definitely by far. no1 is newhere near iconic as he is cos even non boxing fans admire him for what he did outside of boxing. hands down muhammad ali but there have been others who come close to him in jus sporting terms, babe ruth in baseball, michael jordon is basketball, pele and maradona in football and bradman in cricket, but ali jus for his contribution 2society
