Hello

So, I've been working on a website for my uncles clinic right, but I'm having problems with the 'web to mail' form, since the mailto command doesn't work in new browsers.

Anyone here a HTML/JavaScript geek, that can help me?

I need to create a form so the user input gets sent straight to a personal email address, dreamweavers being a slag and STILL the mailto command doesn't work - what on earth!? Is there another method? I don't get why it doesn't work anymore, I've tested with Mozilla, IE 8, Opera etc

Hm, I've never done JavaScript, just Java and basic HTML. Thats more of a web designy kinda question rather than a programmy thing. Kayz is more in tune with the web stuff so he MIGHT know, but I dunno if he's done JavaScript.

if possible show the code you've got...

instead of using JScript use PHP, its more user friendly especially if you don't have advanced knowledge of dreamweaver or coding.

that site generates code for you, plus it has a captcha feature which will also help eliminate spam bots...

Errm.. Opening your website through Opera or other Javascript enabled webbrowser might help...

Another way would be to generate a .txt file with the contents and write a script server side that will forward all inputted messages to the email. This would take the reliance away from having a certain browser, certain OS etc..

You'll need a more sophisticated script to erase the contents of the text file when it's been sent though.... People like to push in viruses with Javascript that's why new browsers don't like them too much....
