hmm i think it depends on the person, arranged and forced are two different things. u cud have an arranged marriage wer u parents get u hooked up, n give u time to get to kno the person etc. but majority of pakees most of the time when u say arranged u think damn im gna get dragged into this. lol

well its all depends on both partners, arranged marriage and love marriage both works... wen u guys say that u gonna find ur own hubby or wife, how u gonna find them and where, n wot if ur parents dont agree.. wot wud u do then, leave him/her or leave ur parents..?

but to be honest i dnt mind if my parents were too hook me up my 1st crush since.. since him and my family do go a long way back! hah but even so if it was goin thru the proper arranged marriage route id take time... like i'd wanna get to no the people etc first... so i'd be older if i was to go down the arranged marriage route.. but if i had a love marriage thing goin on.. den im sorted and i no i wanan marry that person den as soon as major commitments are out of the way i'd start the whole marriage process

I dont mind arranged to be honest. but If I did do love. then knowing me. Id proballi find some one who my mum an dad would love as well, so then once Iv asked for there permission. they cant say no

I can't speak for everyone but I can tell you that my arranged marriage and the person is so far wonderful (albeit I have no romantic feelings for that person). Our parents are from very different cultures (we're muslims which was the main reason, but I noticed people tended to marry from the same cultural background) but we managed to find many similar interests and we are now good friends.

I'm sorry your cousin had to deal with that, but I want to emphasise the point which is we cannot be forced to marry. This is where everyone thinks that is called arranging a marriage. An arranged marriage is when both sides agree to it, that means your cousin and the other person, not the PARENTS. Forced marriage is basically what the title says.

BTW, in Bengali culture we don't have this, we have someone who is either a relative or a close friend who is to be the middle man/person. They normally find someone who has similar in interest or hobbies or someone who just sounds ideal.

well people, guess wot? u no da cousin i was talkin about. shes run away...kindof. i mean at first, people were dead worried but den i gt a txt frm her sayin shell b bck in a week, shes only scarin her parents and savin herself frm dat arranged marriage. i was like ur one cheeky b*tch!! newayz her 'plan' seems to be wrking perfecto coz her parents are regretting every second they even thought about that arranged marriage....................
