Invisible

I have endured much to reach this place in time
Yet I have not been sick, nor mad,
Nor ruined in a wreck.
And yet I feel I have.
There is a thing in me, the walls of cells are thin,
My veins are glass, my heart the merest whim
Of beat and pause and beat...

Ray Bradbury

I have so much to say, but really, there's no point. I'm invisible...till required.

A Caged Bird

Posted 26-12-2007 at 17:43 by Enchantress
A free bird leaps on the back of the wind
and floats downstream till the current ends
and dips his wing in the orange suns rays and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage
can seldom see through his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
of things unknown but longed for still
and his tune is heard on the distant hill

*Enchy's Eid*

Another Eid, another regret.
As a child, Eid was everything it was supposed to be, a time to get together as a family, have a feast with relatives you don't get see so often, to celebrate and pray together, to be charitable.

And then you grow up, and everything changes, which is of course to be expected. Life isn't supposed to be easy, and I've never asked for it to be. Everyone faces trials. But it gets to me most not on my birthdays, or when I've passed exams and want to celebrate...

Prose for thought...

Posted 21-12-2007 at 02:22 by Enchantress
The sound of the Gion Shoja bells echoes the impermanence of all things,
The colour of the sala flowers reveals the truth that the prosperous must decline.
The proud do not endure, they are like a dream on a spring night;
The mighty fall at last, they are as dust before the wind.

Something I was reading today, this is an extract from The Tale of the Heike, a re-telling of some Japanese war in prose.. anyway, this lil bit stood out...and it's very true..all the analogies...

Sigh...

When love beckons to you, you follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you, you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among his pinions
May wound you.
And when he speaks to you, you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
As the north wind lays waste the garden.
For even as love crowns you
so shall he crucify you.
Even as he is for your growth
So is he for your pruning.
