Occupation - BBC Drama on the Iraq War

Well it's not really about the war itself but how it affects 3 soldiers. I actually found it quite compelling and thought the 3 main actors were brilliant. I like the fact it's pretty neutral politically but then does try and show the horror and confusion when attacks happen.

Wondering if anyone else has seen it and what they they thought.

I just finished it and it was one of the most powerful dramas I've ever seen. The 3 main characters were each very compelling in their own way. And the ending shocked me because just when we have the 'bad guy' pinned down so to speak, he pours his heart out which at the last moment makes us question the whole motives of everyone. Am I making any sense? Probably not.

The thing I loved most about it was the issues it dealth with, with the war and also other things such as family, greed, marriage etc. What was great to see was how it questioned both sides of the war? The writer was clearly against the war and he shows that by questioning why they are even there and what they're fighting for. But then on the other side he questions the Iraqi people. If they want to get their country back on track why do they keep killing each other? It only pushes progress back rather then forward. Also deals with the issue of women in Iraq which was interesting.

I really really liked it and would recommend anyone to catch on iPlayer.

I watched a bit of it. I've been planning on catching up with it on the sky+ ad probably will on the weekend! looked good though...
