you can OFFICIALLY drive, legally, without taking your theory test? ... no you can't.

what im saying it ... get the theory knowledge and everything behind you first, and then you will get the rewards of a better job. its luck if you just go into the working world with minimal Q's.

Not really, back in the days you didn't have to have a degree, you start from the bottom and work your way to the top. Nowadays you have to have a degree for everything! And for stupid things aswell, why would somebody need a degree for Turf Grass Management?! Insane

i'll give you a personal example.

my brother finished school, went to college etc but didnt want to go uni.
so he decided to do an apprentiship for joinery (making windows, door frames etc etc) and he was fully qualified.

however, after 2 years in the job, they came with the Upvc windows. this means they are all factory worked etc etc, and no hand craft involved. nobody wanted the wooden frames etc etc anymore. then he got little too no work.

this meant he had to sack the joinery off, and go find something. however, this was hard as he has no qualifications, he was only a professional joiner.

then, after workin in samsung for years, he thought forget this, and went to uni, got a degree (mid-late 20's) ... and now has a job for the council ... something which he would have never got with just being known as a 'professional joiner'.

whn i employ sum1, i dont look at der degree. ok i look for formal qualification in the field, but more importantly i look for industry experience. You can have a degree/masters whteva, but if u havn't put ur education to work in theory then its usless!

but look at it this way ... people stay in education to learn more about a certain field, get as far as they can.
after that, THEN they want to look for a job.
what is somebody applied for your position, had a great degree but this was the first job they were looking for?
you cant fault them for wanting to learn more, and bring more knowledge?

would you say too them 'go get experience elsewhere first, then come back too me' ?

That's what bugs me.. everyone wants someone wit experience but how do u get experience if no ones willing to take u on

nope id place them in a junior role and help them gain the experience, depending on the budget for salary i am available to.

a girl jus started doin work exp 3 weeks ago after she finished her first yr at uni, jus a summer job but hopefully tht will help her get sum decent experience.

whn i was at uni i found it v difficult to get work experience, even tho i was top of all my classes, id won a few design awards and was pretty well known, its such a competitive market, esp in design most companies dont want to risk taking on a junior.
