I told my mum i took a £1 k loan and she werent too happy... said she would have supported me...

So just want to ask a few things...

Do you have to pay interest on loan?

Say I save up £500 by Xmas... can i pay that half of the loan off when i feel like it?

Though I probably won't can i cancel it now?

Yes, the interest rate is about 4.8% at the moment but it can go up or down as it's linked with inflation and yea you can pay it back when you like and cancel it if you want!

So whats all this Pay as you earn BS... makes it sound like thats the only way..

You can set up a direct debit but for those who don't have the money, they're the ones who can take out the loan and pay back at the end of their course and when they're earning over £15k - well it just gets deducted from their wages straightaway as soon as you hit the £15k mark.

Is this the deadline for the loan you can tkae that has no interest? And you pay it back once ur earning a certain amount...?
