Erm can't say that I did you know, I did some cramming LOL... Zero bro there's just too much work to do bits... I can remember I had 6 courseworks all going at the same time, final year project and exams.... You can sit there and revise when you got coursework deadlines... You just have to get in there....

I just paced myself, I knew what I had to do, knew what I had to do to get it, knew I had a point to proove to myself, my fam and all the fuck faces I hate... And I pushed.. I gave everything I had you know... I didn't skim a first neither.... I put myself farr into the points category..

No dossing, no bitches, no fuckin about.... Just a lot of internet, a lot of hip hop music, a lot of sittin in busses, a lot of time on my own.. LOL...

In Computer Science the most valuable piece of advice I can give you is: START LEARNING HOW TO PROGRAM IN C++ or JAVA IN YOUR SUMMER HOLIDAYS BEFORE YOU START UNI.....

You'll be ahead of the pack forever....

Lucky I chose a Computing Alevel. We touch up on Basic Java in there...I remember reading your post in another thread how Java Programming is really good for the future if ur an expert on it. Man, that language gives me a headache with the public class and private class, its gonna take time getting used to it...

Last summer I was gonna learn it for this year, but yeh...I kinda got distracted by the heat and the summer fever lol...

Would you suggest a year in industry? Cos I cant have it both...either year in industry with BEng (4 years) or MEng (4 years as well)...

I suggest that you take that year in industry... When you get out of uni, it'll be invaluable when you writing those application forms for Grad Schemes.... It'll give you so much to talk about in interviews and it gives you nice exposure to professional work and if you trip up a few times, so? You're on industrial placement? So they let it go....

LOL I did C++ and it gets ugly when you got pointers to multidimensional arrays, virtual inheritance etc... In Java pointers are cleaner and you don't need to worry about memory allocation, the garbage collector handles that.... But Java is what is used on the internet and systems that are online and shit... But it's common, and easier than C++ (I'd say)... But the concepts are the same... The first programming language is always the hardest to learn and takes a loooooong time to get in there too... After that, toss any language, you can pick it up in a few weeks........

Trust me theres people who are programmers who still have problems with the concepts.. LOLL 'when does True + True = False?? When True is not True'..... LOL....

One word of advice though and don't take this in the wrong way.... Software Engineering is a dying skill, India is eating away all the development work from the UK... And it's a real thing, people are losing their jobs because of Indian companies such as Wipro and Infosys... Simply because it's more expensive to develop in the UK... Cheap labour in India is driving the wages out of IT and the work....

IT Consultants are what IT companies want these days and Salesmen.... They need business minded IT pro's... Software Development is alll being off shored.... So be careful.... What's gonna make you different than the other millions of Java developers in the world? It's a tough game...

Yeah SAP is massive.... I don't know much about it other than its similar to Oracle and its a comprehensive software solution that companies take and build up their whole technology architecture on....

The qualification is vendor specific, Zero gonna do a degree which is vendor independant..... SAP qualification is similar to getting a Cisco, Microsoft or Oracle qualification.... It's valued no doubt, but vendor specific.... You can demand high cash coz you become a specialist, but in one technology......

LOL nahh I don't fuck with any Java langauges.... Never heard of J++ even... C++ yeah... Perl is one of the hardest basterd out there I think....

I'm looking to learn Java though.... See if I have time some time... I wanna learn some Batch File programming, in Windows, juss to do some simple doo doo.... I'm gna look into it for jokes.... Yeah I'm sad,,,,,

man I had to learn some pearl and c#/visual basic in my first 2 yrs of web development, I got 70 and 80 on both assignments but thats because a friend helped me out, I really disliked programming, I completly went off my computers degree, had no dedication, got a 2:1 and thats why im doing masters now in management.

I deffo suggest you learn some stuff over the summer, even an hr a day man, it will be beneficial, you will be ahead when other ppl have to force themselves to sit down and read and learn, it will help a lot, if I can get that grade without being interested in my degree then you can surely get a 1st if you put some dedication into, I wasnt looking to go into computers after my first year but at my age I felt it would've been a waste so I grinded it.

If your interested in it and want a job from it then I would deffo suggest starting early, trust me you will not regret it.
