Hey ppl just wanted some help into how 2 build me own computer

does any 1 know what are the parts that i require as i have relaized that certain partsdont work with diffrent mancfatures

I've got a CD-ROM at home and it tells you how you can build your own. I've bought parts for one but I'm getting someone else to build it for me!

man you need basics
system baord ( correct one for either p4 or amd or wat ever cpu u gonna use) makes sure its compatible
memory.. depending on the system board it may be sdram or ddr.. these days new pc's come with ddr.
hdd.. agsin can be ide or newer boards are sata connection
cpu fan.. thermal grease
floppy(not that kinda floppy girls)
cd rom .dvd etc
and a case

first thing is the system board.. if you want a pintel pentium get sys board that is compatible with that.. then see if it takes ddr and sata or ide connection.. work from there.. any probs let me know

buy a motherboard and check what processor can mount on.

choose a processor you desire

buy a chassis- a case

you need a heat sink and fan and thermal paste which is very important otherwise without it you will burn up ya processor.

optial drives, and hard drives choose which one prefers you a standard memory size or u want a big capacity.

you need a ribbon cable or known as IDEI cable to link up all the drives together which you slot in to the motherboard

you need a graphics card- you get two versions pci or avg slot, pcis ar the slots where you add extra pheriphrals like modems/tv card etc

a anti static mat, a tool kit.


when you buy a motherboard you get a manual which has a list of what types of things can mount or connect to it.

you need ram (memory) pick a 512mb one up or pick two of em and connect both giving you a nice 1 gig memory.

you need to refer to your manual which typed of memory support ya motherboard, the commmn memory is called ddr.

and in the motherboard there will be a diagram where all the switches connect to...make sure you insert em in to the right place, these switches control ya reset button/lights etc, theses switches are called jumpers.


when you connect more than one drive, behind it you get settings called master n slave, you have to set one to master and the rest to slave, so the computer knows which is the main daddy and which is the mommy.




itz easy to put em together, the only tricky part is the heat sin n fan
