I just heard that 36% of Americans between the ages 18 and 29 have tattoos. I knew they were popular and see a lot of them, but I didn't think they were this popular.

I don't have one and have never even considered getting one. So I'm curious about why people do this? And do they consider their fashion "look" when they choose one?

I'm not really keen on tattoos myself. I don't see the point of permanent body art lol.

Once you get one u want more and more!!!
I love getting inked form of art for me that represents something my first tattoo ok didn't mean anything i got it done randomly and didn't really think about it..but now every one will have a story or a meaning about it. I think it looks super hot .

Hmm well i cant see why some people would say it is..me personally nah not really i dont get inked to look fashionable .

I see.... I think tattoo in fashion is appearing just about everywhere, and Ed Hardy designs is leading the pack. I find the pain rather pleasurable , part of the experience makes it seem really worth it .

Many of my friends have been tattooed - had them done for a specific reason/meaning, and then you've got the few that had them done becasue that was seen as 'fashionable'.

Like Dinara said, most people i know with tattoos can't stop at one.
