Guji, you like that?

I love the poetry and the etymology of the languages and dialects in the South Asian subcontinent.

Cuisine, of course. I love the diversity of the food, and the tastes and even texture!
You could have a fish curry from Goa that's sweet and watery, and then a spicy lumpy dahl. Then, you've got the different staple foods.
I just find it fascinating, that just over three or four countries we have so much diversity in just our food.

Other than that, there's not much that I like that's specific to just South Asians.

yes

but i meant many culture have their flaws, and you can't ignore them...it makes a person more distant from themself when they realise this is their heritage...it makes me annoyed too, knowing the fact there is a lot of ignorance in our culture...

nevertheless it is still a part of who we are...culture doesnt necessarily mean wearing traditional clothes or eating asian sweets...

its about beliefs, traditions, knowledge all that shit....and our culture forms the basis of who we are..

anyway, i waffled on a bit...my point is the thread asks what do you LIKE about your culture...

all i'm saying is try to be more positive.

True say its who we are.

Culture is precieved differently though. I mean from what it was to what it is not theres a huge difference.

Ah sorry if I came across as a bit of a coconut. Didn't mean to. I do generally love our culture, Its got a rich and wonderful history and even now is one of the most, if not the most, recognisable in the world. Generally I do love it.

Okay something I do love, is the fact most children do stay with their parents and not bung them in an old peoples home when they age.

I like the history of Pakistan. E.g.

I went to Pakistan in the early 90s and found myself squating down, hovering my arse over a hole in the ground in order to take a shit...and wiping my arse with my hands an all.

Come late 90s had a proper toilet, not only that had another bowl with a powerful arse washer tap on it (that I havent even got in my house here) and some quality loo roll.

Within a decade we advanced so much, Lets party like its 1999!
