okay guys,

It's my friends brothers mendhi on Sunday and I am gonna be 'one of the lads' lol. I have been asked/told to wear sarwar kameez which i will be getting of them 2morow (now it makes sense why they took my measurements

) lol All the lads are wearing the same outfit... All the brothers/ cousins etc.

I am so DEAD, I have never worn sarwar kameez in my life except when I went to Pakistan when I was 9 yrs old lol.

I need some moral support!

Looool I know how you feel dude. I haven't worn salwar kameez for about 15 years!

I went to a recent mehndi without salwar kameez though, I wore a shirt and trouser with a skinny tie. Probably made a statement, but who cares; no way on earth anyone is getting me into a salwar kameez LOL.

I been gettin them for years from gran goin Pak, normally 10 sizes too big.... But I went Pak in Decemba and had 5 tailored.... Only ever bussem on Eid....

worn it few timez..........i member wen i was 16 i worn it on someones weddin...but its an indian version... only wear it if sum1 close gets married..other wise i dnt..

hehe guys...just got back to get ready. i've tried the salwar kameez. quite tight from the shoulders/arms n chest. other than that it's lookin better than i thought hehe!

oh to top it off i have a lovely scarf thing to go with it hahah

i'll be getting off now need to be there for 4pm, the mendhi starts about 5pm ...anyways peeps enjoy your day! xx

Cipher, what's wrong with wearing shirt and trousers to a mendhi?
Is there a dress code for mendhis, that you *must* wear Asian clothes?

I'm wearing a dress for a mendhi next month.
I forced my sister into a dress for a wedding last month.
If it looks nice, then why not?

Well, at a mehndi you're "supposed" to wear a salwar kameez or some skurta thingy majigg...or a simple shirwani perhaps? It's because it's not that formal as a wedding, but its still supposed to be decent.

It's really a ladies celebration, so its usually them that max it out with what is to be worn. Men aren't really "supposed" to be there but these days they are, hanging out with the groom and stuff.

Well, thats with pakistanis anyway.
