Default Wedding food

Me and mina were talkage about this yesterday on TS.

We were talking about food served at weddings.

Now ive only ever been to pakistani weddings, and maybe the odd gora ones.

Gora lot tend to have finger foods, and sandwitches, etc.

Pakistani weddings have started to have a more range of food now..

These are the types of foods you tend to get at pakistani weddings

-Roast chicken

-Seekh kebabs

-Grilled fish (altho ths ones sort of rare)

-Brown rice (savoury)

-Sweet rice

-Naan/roti

-Lamb curry

-Chicken masala

-Chicken& saag(rare, but have had at some)

-carrot halwa

And you may get some weddn cake.

So just wana know what foods you have at your weddings

Cause mina told me what they have at gujji weddings, which was diff from pak ones.

Traditional dishes for a lahori wedding are:

Starters: Samosa, Tandoori Chicken and Seekh Kebabs (with mint sauce or chilli sauce).

Main Course: Mutton & Spinach With Pilau / Zarda (some people like to mix up both of them lol). Also theres usually a chicken dish...probably madras style. Theres also some very thin naan served with it for those that like it.

Dessert: Ras Malai or Gajjar Halwa.

Thats as much as I know. I've had biryani at a few weddings, but they dont taste up to scratch as hyderabad-style biryani. Apparently that location is famous for the best lol.

Never seen wedding cake at an asian wedding. Probably those that serve it have a european complex lol.

Bengali weddings do not serve fish lol
Usually starter of kebab, chicken tikka and samosa, which never taste nice...
and main course of chicken curry, lamb curry, and dahl and two sorts of rice.
And the dessert is Ras malai or rice pudding mmmm

We have crappy vegetarian food at our weddings, not allowed to eat meat on the whole day, even if it's not at the mandir, not allowed no alcohol either which is why the wedding party is usually held the day after so we can eat meat and drink but obviously they still provide food at weddings, it's just gotta be vegetarian!
