Default Split Wedding Guests.......

Ok i've only been to one Muslim wedding before, and this another mate who got married and his party thing was today, anyway, first time ever (never seen this at a Sikh wedding), the guys and girls were split with a cover in between so you couldn't see over to the other side! wtf?! everyone was complaining amongst themselves lol cos you weren't even allowed to go near the other side, and amongst the lads were just having a laugh but kind of dissapointed that you weren't allowed to see the girls (man I was pimped out lol, it woudn't be possible for me to get hitched but you know everyone has a look around lol).

Anyway, have you guys (whatever religion) been to a wedding like this? I hear its not common but it does happen at muslim weddings?

You could see the guys were eager to get a peep somehow but weren't allowed lol and the girls would be walking to the toilets and looking around too, it just makes them more eager.

What are your views on it? I know none of my other muslim mates are going to do split weddings so this was a suprise.

In Islam there are those people who dont know, those who do know and those who know and yet reject it.

The purpose is to keep them seperate which is what happens at proper segregated weddings.

Think Hijaab, but on a bigger scale lol.

well my views are going to be different im not part of your relgion but I can understand it in a way if it is a relgious thing, but a lot of ppl were not happy about it lol, especially in the 21st century as it makes ppl more eager to see whats on the other side.

tru say tru say, but everyone just seems to think its a backwards thing? and most ppl say they've only ever been to 1 or 2 split ones in their lifes lol so I thought it was just because some ppl are a bit too paranoid.
