So i open the door. Its some dude collecting money for this cancer organisation..

Now it sounds bad but i dont fall for it half the time sounds like shit and its always something ridiculous..he said donate money every month and u can win £5000 i thought..wtf? why doesn't that just go towards the cancer fund???

So i just said ' sorry im not interested..'

And he replied ' Well thanks for your honesty'
as in thanks for being honest and telling me you dont are about cancer.

He made me feel guilty.

They put u in such a difficult position..

It's a sad thing that they have to offer people that 5K before they donate money to the fund.

Cancer is a terrible affliction, and we should ALL help. But not coz someone waves a fish in front of your face. But because it's a noble act, and those who are suffering from Cancer and will suffer in future deserve our help. We should all help.

That said, I'm not one who condones people knocking on your door when you're just trying to sit at home and relax, there's a time and place. BUT add to that, I'd rather be disturbed for a such cause than some fucking trashpot kids 'Trick or Treating' with their parents standing at the back while I give their kids sweets and money.

I can't say you were right, coz you could've given and said I don't wanna be part of no draw, I'm giving money coz it's a good cause. But I can't say that you should've given money coz that's your prerogative.

I personally would help. Allah have mercy on those whom have cancer and those who he choses to be tested by it. Ameen.

I give to charity all the time.

Nah he didn't , he was old and pikey. But his speech was pretty good.

Yea that's a good one because it seems he was dodgy, could have said something like "I don't have any cash on me right now but I'll donate online." See if he gives you a genuine website.

You've always got to be careful about these things, no matter how legit they are.
Even if they have ID cards, if you suspect they're dodgy, call up and find out for yourself.

I have to say, though, charity sellers are mean bastards.
I had one come to my door last year, when I was skint as fuck.
The charity sounded like something that I would've loved to see progress, but I just didn't have any way I could've donated at the time.
The fucker wouldn't take no for an answer.
So, I just said that he'd lost a potential regular contributor and I slammed the door in his face.
