Have a horrible, aggressive, tickly cough and it's driving me up the wall...

Been drinking stuff all day like herbal tea, lemon & honey in hot water and all sorts to try to soothe it, but the effects last about 5 minutes... and I'm having to run to the bathroom every half an hour from all the drinking, which is making me hella cold

Anyone got any good tips to ease a tickly cough?

Most natural stuff my mom's tried (like chewing a piece of ginger) aggravates it

My lungs and throat feel like they're turning inside out! Any suggestions?

Can't even brush my teeth without having a coughing fit and throwing up, gargling is not gonna happen

Trust me, you need to try.

Everytime I had a bad throat/cough, I gargled with hot salt water and the next morning I felt tonnes better!

No no! You have to boil the kettle! (or if you have hot enough tap water, yeh).

Fill a mug up to the brim then dilute with cold water from the tap...as much cold water added so you don't scald yourself!

One teaspoon of salt should be more than enough...if its a mug. Mix it about and there is your concoction!

zinc will ease the pain on your throat and calcium will boost your blood cells which will help you have a quick recovery

Yes I do the same as Zero. If I have a sore throat/cough etc I use warm water with about one teaspoon of salt and then gargle. Works wonders.

Lol no, its just my mugs are kinda big lol...plus she ain't swallowing it, its gargling.

And Ranj uses one teaspoon as well...so bleh!

I do the same... gargle with hot water and salt. Makes me heave, gag and all sorts but it most definitely does the trick.

And also sucking those chewable vitamin c tablets is soothing if I'm at work etc... just not too many otherwise it has a laxative effect lol.

Lol, I too read the small print and from then on I was always wary of having too many lozenges...

Best ones I've tried are fisherman's friend! They're disgusting but they sure do clean you up!

How much/for how long do I gargle? I've never done it before

And it really eases a tickly cough?

lol... ugh they are so rank! My friend is a bit of a hypochondriac... all I have to do is cough and she'll pull out 10 different things... she gave me one and soooo yucky. I used to eat lozenges like they were sweets but the nice tasting ones are usually useless and have no effect whatsoever.
