Default Skin Issues/Foundation

im puzzled with what to do with my skin.
iv seen dermatologists.m on medication,to improve my scars.
everyone thinks im being dramatic about it,but it bothers me.

my cousin's wedding is coming up,and i need some good make up.

primer,foundation etc...im going for a NUDE make-up look.any recommendations of brands?

i dont want it to look caked on.il try to post pictures of what sort of look i want.but could do with good advice on brands for primer/foundation etc.

i have used MAC foundation, but find it very thick and it looks caked on.

I know what you mean about Mac..ive bought some but i dont use it anymore. It really does look pasteyfied..also makes it look like ive got a tan. =S However u can buy normal coverage mac foundation as well which isnt as thick and it covers up all the marks. ..just make sure u buy the right one. Make sure u try ut in before

Oh and Mac primer rules! Its ace..its greta for you skin and your make-up looks neater as well. If your going just for simple foundation..a day to day basis sort of one..the Max factor is good. Its just your average cover up. i've heard NARS is good also.

Dude when you got no issue with money..money can buy you looks to. You can maintain yourself..get the best personal trainers etc..of course your gonna look perfecto..oh and then theres air brushing as well. I dont like their concealer mainly because the lady who tried it out on my face gave me a shade which too orangey as well. I wore it a couple of times..and because ive got relativley fair skin i looked like i had just come off a beach and slapped on a load of crap on my face..eurgh. Blv it or not.. i only got the right foundation about 2 months ago! ..thats after trying 6 or 7 diff shades...even still it doesnt suit my skin colour..it sucks.

Natrual collection isnt the best of makes however theyve got some real nice nude lipsticks...and i recently bought a concealer of that make too. Its not too bad to be honest.

Eyelash extensions..ahh. Do you really need it? Thats going to look all fake..espc if you want to go for the natrual look. Curl your lashes instead or apply loads of mascara to add volume? Post a pic up of your lashes im sure u dont need ext.

Eye shadows..you mean colours and make or the style?

Oh and hun dont stress ive got loads of marks on my bugly face as i suffer form mild acne...or is it sress? hm either way.. Its not nice at all and applying hell loads of foundation doesnt help either. You can go to the doctors and im sure theyl prescribe you with some cream or gel. Also if its scars from spots..drink hell lods of water. Ive been drinking alot recently and my face defo look more clear...also apply a bit of lemon on those scars ever night ebfore you to sleep. It does wonders!

My skin isn't what it was...purely my own fault but on occasions I use foundation.. I use my Max Factor one or my Clinique.. I like both but mix always with a little body lotion or moisturiser..

okay so, i agree with ayesha on that one! i really dont like the MAC primer - think MAC is far too over rated. and makes you look dead fake!

i use 'that gal' brightening face primer by Benefit. its great!! but it has pink undertones, so really it depends on your skin colour and its undertones. people say that's a load of shit and buying foundation etc isnt that complicated, but it really is!

i also swear by YSL touche eclat! its gorgeous and really does work. theres six different shades (i think - dont quote me on that), shade no1 is the lightest and works the best with highlighting. the other shades are your standard concealers. again, it depends on your skin tone as to how you work that one!

i use dior foundation - its expensive but sincerely worth every penny. i have the 'forever' on, so it gives medium coverage and apparently its waterproof! you dont need a lot to work miracles on ya face - it goes a long way! its not too matte as well. you need a balance - if you go for something really matte then it just looks unnatural! but then again, you need to weigh up how oily your skin is in relation to the type you use...

and the foundation brush also matters too!! use a good brush and a not so good foundation and you'll still look good. MAC foundation brush is good! i use that one sometimes, but my Dior one most of the time!

if you're gonna mix moisturiser with foundation... thats what i do too. YSL have a skincare moisturising brush out. called Top Secrets. its white with a gold lid. you apply the moisturiser with the brush, and it has caffeine particles etc inside to even out your complexion BEFORE you put your foundation on! it leaves your skin so so so soft! you can also put it on after the foundation too, if you wanna make it look natural!

oh and Dior are doing a Nude range atm! its to die for! the eyeshadow colours are gorgeous, and NARS do lovely eyeshadows as well! if you're looking for cheaper stuff, barry m ones are good. but then, theyre shimmery/glittery etc and you seem to be after a nude look. oh and Guerlain do nice eyeshadows as well! Use the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion - your eyeshadow sticks the whole day and doesnt crease!!

and for lips... well, YSL is good as is Dior and Chanel. if you're looking for a cheaper option, loreal do a range of 'lip blushes' which are good for something subtle!

wowza. i go off on one when i talk about makeup... lol xxx

I use this and it works really well, went to Boots a few months ago where they try them out on you and this was the best for me (I'd never used foundation/concealer before!) This works as a concealer. She said you should use one that is just a bit lighter than your own skin colour and you can't tell the difference with mine, my face looks healthier and flawless with it! (Not that I'm advertising or anything ) but yea, I guess you just gotta find one that suits your skin colour. TBH I didn't think they would have anything my colour because I'm dark skinned lol. The best thing about it is it doesn't wash off with plain water so you don't have to worry about rain in your face plus I can use it on those dark marks on my arms and legs left by stupid mosquitoes!
