Default mascara

Ladies,

I need a recommendation for a mascara that is easy to use and won't clump! I'm unfortunately not that skilled in applying mascara, and find that no matter how much I try there will always be a clump somewhere on my lashes..so I haven't bothered to use mascara for ages..being south asian we hardly need it really since the majority of us are blessed with long dark lashes.

But I think it's about time I learn how to apply it without the clump factor. So any suggestions on a good product?

Diorshow Blackout Mascara.. and Lancome Hypnose - v. good in Onyx.

Though, I must admit, the clumping aspect is more to do with the brush and how you apply it.
Can't really be avoided, so work on application. Maybe condition lashes too, I've found mascara goes on better.

Okay like.. well, like you have a facial routine to keep your skin all lovely and hydrated, sometimes you need to do the same with your lashes (same as hair really, frequent hair masks and the like!).

Especially if you wear eye makeup.. I'm guessing you do on a regular-ish basis?
So just get a cotton wool bud and use it to apply Vaseline onto your eyelashes...just a thin coat with your normal skincare routine before bed.

When you apply mascara how do you do it?
If you go right from the roots of the eyelashes and gently.. not zigzag, but like move it back and forth horizontally as you're applying it (sorry, not so amazing at explaining!).
If you do it in fluid motions, it should get rid of clumps.
Maybe dust your eyelashes with a translucent setting powder beforehand? Helps the mascara stick to the lashes better = less mascara used = less clumps!

Oh absolutely what JellyTots said.

Or just stick vaseline on them before hand, works a treat.

Wiggle the brush about a bit, I've never had a problem with mascara, even if its cheap and shitty or expensive. Whatevs, I've never had my mascara clump. It only ever clumps if you put too too much on and if you don't apply it correctly. Or if its too dry,

I swear by those two mascaras... have never let me down and always make my lashes look plush. Other one I quite like is Clinique High Impact.

I just go from the root to the end in one clean sweep but it always clumps! Argh. I don't know, the thought of putting vaseline on my eyelashes, hm..

I have the same problem.
Only Make Up Artists, and Make Up Counter people can't help me.

I always have clumpy eyelashes, if I use mascara.

So, I go for false lashes.
Less time and fuss.

Ran which false lashes do you use? I used to wear MAC ones but omgods, they made my eyes so sore - I wear contact lenses all day, so I'm presuming that's why?

Ranj, the Lancome mascaras good if you're not so good at application, it's gotta nice shaped brush.. Diorshow does as well actually. You don't need to apply loads of layers and fiddle to get a good effect.
You should look into maintaining and conditioning lashes though, especially if you're wearing mascara. It'd be like not moisturizing/cleansing but using foundation everyday.
