fair or dark?

was listening 2 da radio da ova day n da topic was bwt how asians wna b fair n da fings dey do 2 look fair n how dey go 2 places 2 get fair b4 der wedding as der inlaws xpect dem 2 b fair n fings lyk dat so i was wondering is being fair dat important?? arnt dark ppl jus as beautiful??cuz personally i am very fair n i prefer looking dark so u knw always using fake tan i rather look asian den look wite so jus wondering wat u lot fink?

I'm dark and I don't have a problem with it. My mum does though, she always tells me off for going out in the sun because she says noone will marry me for being so black lol.

wether a person is dark or light it shudnt really matter i didnt really knw its still an issue in da asian community

You could be really gori chiti but bugly as hell or alternatively uber dark and look like a man. Skin colour doesnt matter. Its not about the skin colour its about your features. I myself am rather fair compare to most pakistanis because it sort of runs in the genes and i am pretty happy with my skin colour so i wouldnt change it. Loads of people tell me how lucky i am and i take it as a compliment but i dont go around boasting. I dont see the point. Thats just daft. --'

I'm finally at one with my skin colour... and then the stupid sun comes out!

I'd like to be darker, I think it would give me more of a healthy glow.
And its a annoying finding makeup, cos I'm not THAT fair that I can wear white-people makeup.
Saying that, I've got annoying red/pink undertones, so I look tangoed in just the one shade! Have to mix 2 together - bleh, annoying.

Anyway, off the point slightly. It's all about the features, rather than your skin tone.
Then again, saying that, your skin colour tends to bring out or enhance your facial features. But generally, I think darker people are far luckier.

I actually find it funny in a way, because of living in the uk you don't even see the sun. Some uk asians I've seen, just based on pictures and tv, actually wouldn't hurt to experience a bit of sunshine. Vitamin D anyone?

I'm fair for a punjabi, I live in Australia with lots of sunshine..I tan but my natural colour is pretty fair but not pastey.

It is a misconception that they are healthy, its merely the 'look'..it makes you look longer and leaner especially come summer time. What I'm talking about are people who don't even go in the sun because they want to be as gorra as Nicole Kidman! We all need Vitamin D, so I implore you go outside but don't forget your SPF!

Sun tans do alot of damage to your skin. You age alot faster too. I don't hide away from the sun but I don't lie there looking for a tan either. Alot of tanned people just look rough...! Be proud of the colour of your skin! I certainly am.
