Shetty to star in London musical

Shetty won Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is set to star in a musical that will premiere in London later this year.
She has signed on to play lead role in From Bollywood To Hollywood, which will be along the lines of Moulin Rouge, the star's spokesman told the BBC.
"Her role requires lots of dancing and acting and that's something she loves doing anyway," said Dale Bhagwager.
"Shilpa's basic aim is to showcase Bollywood and Indian culture in the West," he added.
"Even in this musical, her costumes will be designed by popular Indian designer Neeta Lulla and they will represent the ethics and culture of India."

Mr Bhagwager said he could not give out the director's name but mentioned that renowned Indian choreographer Ganesh Hegde would look at the dances for the musical.
He added that Shetty would focus on her performance and dancing, leaving the singing to professionals.
"She is not a professional singer," he said. "In fact, I think she is a bathroom singer but she excels in dancing and performing and I think that is what she would be looking at."
He also said the musical would travel to other parts of the world, possibly including India, following a small number of shows in London.
Race row
The Bollywood actress became the focus of international attention after winning Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year.
Her time in the house was marred by allegations of racist bullying from fellow housemates, including Jade Goody and model Danielle Lloyd.
Their comments sparked protests from race relations campaigners, and led to media watchdog Ofcom reprimanding broadcaster Channel 4.
In India, Shetty first came to attention playing alongside actor Shah Rukh Khan in the 1993 film Baazigar (Player).
She then went on to star in hits such as Main Khiladi Tu Anari (Me Player, You Buffoon) and Dhadkan (Heartbeat).
Later, she received recognition for her portrayal of an HIV sufferer in the 2004 film Phir Milenge (Will Meet Again).
Her latest film Apne (Ours), is released in India this week, but she has not signed for any new Bollywood projects in recent months.
