Example, one of Rumis poems where he expresses that he is searching, searching for God. And realises that he need not search, since he would be searching for himself.
Exactly. The path is self realisation before you dicsover god.

Its all about stilling the mind and not living in the world, but rising above it.

How can you find god outside in such an imperfect world? God is perfect. He can only live in realms that are perfect.

If this world was perfect, there wouldn't be any diseases, murders and we'd live forever!

Why are some people poor and starving whilst others are rich and waste food? What you sow so shall you reap. Everything in this world is an example of cause and effect. You can't kill and expect to be with God after death.

Its not about doing good in this world, dying then entering his realm. How can you become a doctor if you haven't the knowledge or practised it? It's living blindly!

And to be honest, its not about religion. Religion is man made. Again, if a human made it, its imperfect. The teachings are correct but what is the need to seperate people and put them into groups? God didn't make religion.

It's about knowing what is right and wrong. What you need to do to rise above the crap of this world.

Too many people are just blinded by religion.

I agree with the jist of your post, except for what I put in bold, since my beliefs state otherwise. God created religion, it is man who has created groups. When it should be pure and how God intended us to worship him and praise his beloved messenger.

Do you love your creator? Love your fellow-beings first.

U should clarify what the definition of sect is and the meaning behind it... Wahabi/sunni/certain shia are not sects, they are muslims but with differences of opinion within the boundaries of the quran and sunnah. The 3 groups mention all have the same fundamental beliefs i.e. Aqeedah, is the same, so it does not make them non muslim. it only makes them non muslim when they deviate away from the quran and sunnah.

I supose it is down to the context in which it is taken and how you interpret it, just that the power of God and that divine feeling is within him and close to his heart, perhaps? As opposed to a bold/shirk, 'I Am' meaning.
Because God is Everything.
I used to be scared of my thoughts when I was younger, thinking it was shirk.
I see God in a lot of things; Truly beautiful things.
...because it's all under God's Power.
For example, the Sun shining through the gaps between the clouds, I find it so beautiful and I see God in that.
He created that scene.

Going back to Rumi's poem, being one of God's creation, he doesn't need to look for God. He has God within himself.

I'm not saying that everyone is God, but by being part of God's creation we all have a part of Him inside.
Not exactly Shirk.
Took me years to reassure myself that I'm not a sinner.

That was and is my point. In regards to Sufism, also.

Yeah, but that's exactly what it is. He is everywhere, within us, around us.
When we feel it, and such a thought occurs, I don't think it should be classified as Shirk. Allah Swt know's our intentions when we feel such things, and the intended meaning, he knows all. So to think thoughts like that is beautiful, rather than 'Astaghfirullah. That's shirk' People overuse the word these days, man. As if they do not know the definition.

God did not create religion?

We are all his children. A father doesn't deffrentiate so why would he create religious groups?

If God was visible, he won't be sitting with a turban, pundit garbs, islamic clothing. He is just light. God is one.

Bandar, this is where you need to understand that different people's beliefs are totally different.
I, personally, don't believe in religions as I feel they were created by men to control their societies.
Others, however, will have a fierce belief that their religion is divine and sent by God to Earth.

Belief is belief.
Fact usually doesn't change anything.

Also, can you really say God is light?
How do you know?
My thoughts say that God is something totally away from anything we know... I wouldn't even know how to begin imagining what he's like etc...

You're right. Its just what I believe in. Sorry if I caused offense to anyone.

From what I've read, God is just light that can manifest into anything.

You can't say religion is man made. Theres no proof.

And you can't say it isn't because there is no proof as well.

Its a catch 22 where no-one knows anything further than his little finger. You just have to wait and see otherwise. Different people from different religions use the teachings as a means to an end. Those that do not believe in religion won't care and will wait it out.

Whatever it is; as Coolio said; I'll see you when you get there.

It's no worries my love. I'm just amused at how the nature of my topic changed to a Religious 'debate'.. when really, I just wanted to sit here like a gay, reading mushy wushy heart-felt poems : )
