Can someone translate this Alama Iqbal poem for me, please - The Asian Place - Desi Forum

Tehni peu kisi shajar ki tanha
Bulbul tha koi udas betha

Kehta tha key raat sar pey aayi
Urhney, chugney mein din guzara

Puhnchoon kiss tarah aasshian tak
Har cheez pey chha gaya undhera

Sun kay bulbul ki aa`ho`zaari
Jugnu ek paas hi sey bola

Hazir hoon madad ko jan`o`dil sey
Keerha hoon agarche` mein zara sa

Kya hua gar raat hai undheri
Mein rah mein roshni karoon gaa

Hain loag wuhi jahan mein achhay
Aatay hein jo kaam dusron kay

It's for some work I'm doing.
I understand it, but I was wondering if anyone was able to translate 'word for word', as it is. Thanks

Um I'll give it my best shot lol...

On a small branch of a tree,
A sad cuckoo was sitting. (I think bulbul is the cuckoo bird)

He said, "The night has arrived",
"And all day I was foraging for food and flying about".

"How am I going to get to my destination?" (presumably his nest)
"(when) Everything is covered in darkness?"

When they heard his plight,
A glowworm replied. (I think thats what jugnu is).

"From the depth of my heart, I am ready to help you",
"Even though I am such a small insect."

"Does it really matter if it is a dark night?"
"I will light your way".

(I think this is the moral):

The people of good heart are those,
Who come of use to others (who help others).

I think thats word for word'ish...
