i remmeber a few yrs ago fergie had a similar attitude abotu the FACUP when his team was goin great guns then they had a blip and suddenly the FA CUP was a prestigous trophey to win according to fergie

the game lacked any conviction. as a neutral even i wanted liverpool players to run on the pitch and massacre the everton/utd team

End of the day, Fergie did what he thought was best. The young team didn't play bad, and end of the day they lost on penalties.
It's easy to sit back now and say he should of played so and so, and then they would of one. Maybe its true, but a good manager who tries his whole squad at various stages and competitions of the season. Didn't go Man U's way today, which is a shame, because I think they deserved it just as much as Everton. Pretty equal match. Which as a Man U supporter, I see as a positive, that a team with the average of 22(?) only just about lost to a team like Everton. By no means are Everton a poor team. Grand Slam would have been good, something to tell the kiddies about in 30 years time, and its a shame. But good luck to Everton!

everton at the end of the day are leagues behind any team in the top 4. on their day any of the top 4 can win each other. on their day any of the top four would smash any other team in the league.
fact. putting icin sugar and calling it a cake doesnt make it any sweeter. it was clear that the fa cup was the trophy he least wanted to do wtih. and the selection showed it. both teams played bad - there was little action and only the penalty shout was of any interest. but addin to that - the referee was immensely poor. riley had a shit shit game fergie deffo wont b losing any sleep over it and one other thing - how much louder were the everton fans than the utd fans?
