Post Bangalore beat Chennai to play Deccan in final

JOHANNESBURG: Royal Challengers Bangalore qualified for final after defeating Chennai Super Kings by six wickets with seven balls to spare in the second semi-final of the Indian Premier League here at the Wanderers Stadium on Saturday.

Now, they will meet Deccan Chargers in the final to be played at Johannesburg on Sunday.

Chasing 147, Bangalore began disastrously and lost two early wickets for 22 runs on the board but Manish Pandey and Rahul Dravid got together to steer their team out of trouble to take the score to 94.

Pandey made 48 from 35 balls and Dravid 44 off 39 balls. When they departed, Virat Kohli and Ross Taylor made target more easy.

Both cruised their team to victory in the 19th over. Kohli made 24 and Taylor 17 and both were not out.

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings made 146 runs for the loss of five wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the second semi-final of the Indian Premier League here Winning the toss, Bangalore captain Anil Kumble chose fielding and restricted Chennai to 146 in the allotted 20 overs.

Main scorers for Chennai were Parthiv Patel (36), Mahindra Singh Dhoni (28), Matthew Hayden (26), Albie Morkel (20 not out) and Suresh Raina (20).
