i think im around 3ish.. as i can talk in my mother tongue fairly good, i think number 1 would be losing touch with your desi side i.e. you can't talk in ya mother lingo.

I think it depends what you define as 'desified', is it speaking your mother tongue, is it eating desi food, dressing in desi attire, listening to desi music, socialise with mostly desi friends, or is it simply just identifying yourself of that ethnic background to which you belong.
I identify myself as punjabi, because those are my roots. I can't speak fluent punjabi (was never taught) nor have I ever been to Punjab in my life. We hardly eat indian food .. maybe once a fortnight, we have a variety of food. I don't walk around in punjabi suits. I do listen to some bhangra music, once in a while. I socialise with mostly non punjabis/indians etc, though I do know some punjabi folk. So if I use that definition, geez I'd be what a 1? Last edited by Ranj; 20-06-2008 at 00:40. |

i was hardcore paki lover, paki this paki that, paki pride nd all that bollox. whenever pakistan games were on, id be hardcore patriotic, not nomre nd thas simply coz of religion. i can speak my mother tongue nd i love curry, but thas as far as it goes.

3-4 but i voted 4 only coz of my guji fluentcy...i can happily converse with a gran or two with the most proper guji.
I wear asian clothes regularly...these days more than my jeans. I eat indian food most days of the week. I've got a balance i like to think. |
