Thyroid
Someone within the family has this problem. She's taking 200mg levothyroxine, her weight is approx 66kg. Height roughly 5' 3. Any weight loss solutions you guys know? Perhaps someone in your family has the same problem but has learned to control their weight?
Any help appreciated.

hello I.P
There are a few different variations of Levothyroxine. Do you know which oneshe takes? There are three primary variations of Levothyroxine: Unithroid, Levoxyl and Synthroid.
Unithroid was one of the first and is still the most widely prescribed of the variables. It is also one of the most out-dated. It addresses the primary symptoms of hypothyroidism; stabilizing hormones and reducing mood disorders.
Levoxyl does the same, but also aids to increase metabolism.
Synthroid does all of the above, also addresses metabolism weight loss like Levoxyl, but does so in other ways.
Of the three variables, Levoxyl and Synthroid are the preferred medications for hypothyroidism.

I may have to talk to the doctor about her meds and see what she is exactly taking from those 3 variables. Most probably the 1st one you've described. It simply says on the box that each tablet contains 100 micrograms anhydrous levothyroxine sodium and lactose. No leaflet given.

Sounds like her Dr. prescribed the cheapest and oldest medication. She should ask for one of the other options. Changing medications should give her better results. Hope she feels better.
