I know what you’re saying, but who’s fault is this? I blame the people who brainwash their children into believing this sort of stuff from birth (with threats of hell fire added in for good measure). Because when these children grow up and they come across facts and opinions which put their religious teachings into doubt, then this will inevitably shatter their faith.

Btw let me just clarify that I’m not promoting atheism like loki seems to be doing. I’m not an atheist.

I endorse the fact that many humans believe in an ulterior, superior being (God) and they believe in some sort of afterlife.

I don’t go out saying to people that “There is no God, this life is all there is, there is no afterlife” etc. Infact people who continually preach that message can be as annoying as religious preachers. At the end of the day, nobody can prove or disprove the existence of God or an afterlife.


Religion however is a different matter.

What is a religion? A religion comes about when an individual claims to know what God is thinking and claims to know how God wants us to live our life. In the case of Islam, this individual is Muhammad. Many people have made such claims throughout history. There have been literally hundreds and thousands of religions throughout history.

I don’t attack God or spirituality… but the teachings and stories of every religion should be thoroughly scrutinised.

Bear in mind that posting on an internet forum isn’t my full time occupation, and when I get time on the net I like to do other things too, like check my emails, read the news, download music, maybe post in other threads etc.

For your information, I’m gonna go to the bathroom now to do tutti, then I’m gonna watch the 2nd half of the Liverpool-Chelsea game, then I’m gonna go to the corner shop to buy some groceries, then I’m probably gonna eat my roti… and when I do these things, the last thing on my mind will be… “oh no I still haven’t responded to incredible’s post yet”.

I still don't think you have really answered my questions (properly). From what I see you are a lost individual and don't know what you believe in or you don't like to share your personal beliefs.

What are your principles, morals and thoughts? Where does God come into it? What does your brain say? what will happen after death? How do you put it all together?

If I ask you what you believe in, then you can give a one word answer which is… “Islam”.

This basically means that you believe in everything that Muhammad believed. This one word “Islam” encompasses everything that Muhammad (and therefore you) believed in.

When you ask me what I believe, then I can’t give you a one word answer unfortunately, because “zanjeers beliefs” does not have a name.

If I make a list of all of the things that I “believe” then we could be here all day.


Having said that, I’ll name a few:

I believe that burning non-believers (whoever they are) in the hell fire forever is cruel and evil.

I believe that allowing men to marry up to 4 wives (without the previous wives permission) in a world which has a 1:1 proportion of males:females is not a very good idea.

I believe that people who steal should not have their hands chopped off. They should be punished, and then they should be given a chance to reform (with both hands intact).

I believe that a husband should not beat his wife if he fears disobedience.

I believe that a female’s testimony in court is equal to a male’s testimony.

I believe that slavery is immoral.

I believe that murder and rape are much bigger sins than committing shirk.

I believe that people who decide to leave Islam should not be killed.

I believe that people who commit adultery should not be stoned to death. If my wife committed adultery then I’d divorce the bitch. I wouldn’t want her to be stoned to death.

I believe that if a grown man marries a prepubescent girl, then this is child abuse.

I believe that people who fornicate should not be flogged 100 times.

I believe that praying in your own language is better than praying in a language that you don’t even understand.

I believe that a society which is compelled to pray 5 times a day at set times will not be as productive as a society which isn’t.

I believe that there is life beyond our solar system.

I believe that winged horses do not exist, and they never have existed.

I believe that it is impossible to put every species of animals into an Ark.

I believe that music, singing and dancing is creative and beautiful, not sinful.

I believe that if an animal is slaughtered for food, then we should kill the animal using the method which causes it the least pain and discomfort, and I believe that we should continue to research methods of minimising the pain and discomfort felt by animals being slaughtered.

I believe that lying and stealing and cheating are all very very bad.

I believe that any God who asks mankind to fast from sunrise to sunset should've considered the fact that the sun does not rise or set for several weeks of the year in certains parts of the world (ie the Northern/Southern hemisphere).

and last but not least… I believe that Arsenal will win the premiership this season.
