...maybe I was being close minded about it.

Zero, I just realised, it looked like I was sort of, basically, attacking you.
It wasn't my intention.
I just like asking questions.

You and Budden Boy have both said that, to start off, you can start with praying Jummah only and then build it up.
I just had it in my head, that you could do it the other way around.
Maybe I think differently because Jummah in congregation is fardh on men, and isn't for women...?

^ Lol of course you have every right to question.

As you said friday prayer at the mosque isn't compulsory on women to pray at the mosque, but I think they should do it at home? Im not too sure wether a friday ghusl (or bath) is obligatory for women either, because its compulsory for men whatever the case.

Glad to see people do remember things quite well from what they have learnt about their religion from their young age.

Jummah prayers are just as fardh as the 5 daily prayers but carries more reward and importance but it does not make the 5 daily prayers any less fardh (obligatory). As people have mentioned if we aren't able to pray the jummah prayer then we should offer the zuhr prayer instead. Having said that we should strive to pray jummah in every way possible, we should make time and arrangements for it as much as we can so that we do not miss it.

There a lot of people who just pray jummah on the friday and that is it, literally. They brush their hands off it for a whole week thinking that is the bare minimum that they need to do and that it will suffice. Am afraid it is not. The bare minimum at the very least that Allah asks of us are the 5 fundamental pillars of Islam:

1) Declaration of faith
2) Offering 5 Daily prayers
3) Fasting in the month of Ramadhan
4) Paying Zakah (Charity)
5) Pilgrimage to Makkah if one has the means to do so

I am sure as we all know, nothing in life is free, nothing good in life can be achieved without hard work and effort, so what makes it any different with religion? We cannot expect to attain Allah's pleasure without hard work and little effort

Prophet Muhammad (saw) has given a strong warning to a person who leaves his Jumah prayer without a good reason. In one hadith Abdullah bin Masud (RA) narrates what the Messenger of Allah (SAW) once said about the people who did not come to the Friday Prayer without a good reason.

"I wish to appoint someone to lead the prayer and myself go to the houses of those who missed the Friday Prayer and set fire to their houses with the occupants in them." (Muslim, Ahmad).

Before people start misinterpreting the above quote, it does not mean anything hostile, it is a metaphor stressing how important it is for free males to offer their Jummah prayers in congregation.

Another hadith states, "A person who leaves 3 Friday prayers consecutively, Allah puts a seal on his heart." (Ahmad, Tirmizi, Abu Dawud).

I don't think we have to start learning to or start offering our prayers again after a long time by starting with jummah. Some may find it easier to start with the evening prayer, or even the morning prayer. At the end of the day if one has the ultimate intention to eventually start offering all his prayers then he will eventually do so including Jummah if Allah wishes.

Nonetheless beginning to offer prayers regularly by starting with Jummah is also fine. But one should not think "If I just offer my Jummah prayers at the very least then I will be okay" and be content with that. That is totally wrong. It is a good starting point but not sufficient to offer jummah and stop just there.

So in conclusion.. Salah (prayer) is THE fundamental thing that differentiates a muslim from a non-muslim. So I leave it upto you to interpret what that means if you do not offer your 5 daily prayers regularly.

Namaz is Fardh, so it is compulsory on all muslims to read namaz. Namaz is one of the things that diffrentiates muslim and kuffar. Juma is important, becuase of the khutbahs given, the khutbahs are there to give advice and sense of direction to muslims. I dont wanna come across as if im judging, thas not my purpose at all, but it does seem very 'picking and choosing'.

Your islamic duties are based on INTENTIONS and ACTIONS. U can have good intentions from the heart, but putting them into action is the important bit. Its all good, having good intentions to read namaz, putting it into practice is something else. Many people have intentions to do summit, but the underlying factor is doing them intentions and carrying them out.
