The excercise regimes in boxing are tough but It wont give you all body conditioning like Muay thai does....Originally Posted by desimack

A lot of boxers don't like going near weights for some reason but I used to do a boxing and weight training routine.
Weights 3 times a week n boxing twice a week
I've always been into combat sports and bodybuilding too so my workout routines were hybrid.
If I got the chance I'd like to combine ju jitsu with muay thai and boxing though, those 3 would go together nicely.
Striking with your arms with boxing, striking with your legs with muay thai and takedown and wrestling with ju jitsu.
You could fight from any range and even be effective on the floor

yeh I thought about doin Ju jitsu purely for floor combat in sticky situations but if ure kicks and knees are good then you wouldnt find ureself there very often
The thing is when you got somebody on the floor they cant kick or really even punch effectively so if somebody takes u to the floor ur in deep trouble.
The Gracie brothers practised ju-jitsu and they fought all over the world they were unstoppable.
That was apart from when they fought this one guy, he was a hybrid fighter had skills in boxing, wrestling and thai boxing.

nice...im definately guna consider that hybrid...
You watch UFC or PrideFC?
They got guys coming in from all kinds of arts from all over the world.
Whenever a boxer goes in the ring with a thai boxer the thai boxer keeps his distance and wears the boxers legs down.
Whenever a thai boxer goes in with a ju jitsu fighter or wrestler the thai boxer gets stormed till he ends up on the floor and then submitted.
The ju jitsu fighter always had a chance of getting knocked out by a kick from the thai boxer or a punch from the boxer.
It's like a circle and the best guys in the business are the hybrid fighters, they can take anything you throw at them and counter it

Yeh I watched a much nastier version, more like cage battles than UFC, I mean real underground stuff and the Thai guys would always have their legs.....
I suppose the hybrid is the best style, adapt to ure opponent..
Muhammad Ali got into the ring with a thai guy and left the ring on a stretcher with a broken leg....did you knw this#?
it doesnt matter how good u are unless you can adapt....thats a bit like Bruce...
ITSH lIKE A FINGA POINTIN TO DA MOON!!!
I'd kick both ur arses anyday..
