I hear shader is suppose to be awesome.

Ive got ghost recon advance warfighter, needs a shader graphics card and the game itself is manifique

Lol, Marni. The fastest graphics card on the planet is still the nVidia 8800 GTX.

Shader is not a make of a graphics card or the model of a graphics card. Shader is a feauture that high end graphics card have. So if Ghost Recon Fighter doesn't work on your machine, it's because your graphics card is shite

You probably have an older model graphics card that doesn't support shader models.

Put it this way. If you get a EVGA 8800GTX Super Clocked model, then you won't have any problems playing any games that there are out now. Granted there will be 1 or 2 games out there that will require SLi graphics, but I doubt you'll play them.

That's why you can't play the game. The FX5200 doesn't support shader models.

The price range differs.

If you get the 8800GTS model then you're looking to fork out about
£150 for the 320MB version and about £230 for the 640MB version.

If you want the dogs bollocks, the 8800GTX then you're looking to fork out about £300 for the 768MB version and about £350-£370 for the EVGA Super Clocked version.

But there is a cheaper option you can go for.

You can buy 2 7900GTX models, put them in SLi mode and overclock them. Once overclocked they perform NEARLY as fast as 2 8800GTX's would in SLi mode.

If you want them to perform as 2 8800GTX's would, then you would need to watercool the chipset on the 7900GTX's and overclock them to high heaven.

So you can either decide to fork out £300 for the original 8800GTX for one card, or £700 for 8800GTX in SLi mode. Or you can decide to go for the "fake" 8800GTX and fork out about £300 for 2 7900GTX cards.

Invest in a good card man, trust me you will like the difference in gameplay.

Or you could wait for the new CPUGPU boards. Cut down on costs that way.

That what I do, i spend a bit on pc parts, it always pays off.

CPUGPU is basically the CPU chip and the GPU chip on the same PCB board, thus saving money on buying 2 seperate parts (the CPU and the graphics card), plus also saving space within the PC and also cutting down on power consumption.

Cos you the 8800GTX, it requires nearly 170 watts of power and the Super Clocked version requires nearly 200 watts at peak performance. Man I have to get a 1100w PSU now cos my 750 watt isn't cutting it.

im crap at technical stuff.. but if u changed to a better graphics card.. does it affect the motherboard.. can it hack it?
