it depends, I've done a masters (nearly) and it was to give me experience in a different subject.
some people prefer a years experience over a masters, as do some employers but if you do a masters and have also worked part time or had experience before then it could help, it's just extending your knowledge, and a bit more difficult to pass etc.
so just depends what subject your looking into, have a search around, ask possible employers if they think a masters will help you and that will give you the answer.
it's beneficial, yes, but again it differs for subjects.
