    lolz whens that homework in for?

    its next time we got matt right? which is next week wednesday so ill do it on the weekend

    my afternoon wa sgood i met a few mates, was sititng by myself on college green then they come up to me spent the rest of time with then went t english was with drew and tom for the rest of the day was all good!

    Exam Question


    Q. With reference to a named erosional landform, outline how it was formed. You may use diagrams to illustrate your answer. [10 Marks ]



    Ans. A wave cut platform is an erosional landform an example of this is in Durdle Door, Dorset. These Cliffs are prone to erosion such as corrosion as they are limestone rocks.



    A wave cut platform is a gently sloping area of flat rocks which is exposed at low tide. The foot of a cliff is undercut to form a wave cut notch (see diagram). As the notch gets larger by the dissolving of some rocks through corrosion and by the shear impact of the waves by hydraulic power; the cliff above e.g. Durdle Door, will over time collapse.



    As this process continuous the cliff will slowly retreat (see diagram) and, usually, increase in height. The gently sloping land left at the foot of the retreating cliff is called a wave cut platform.









    1 Original position of cliff



    2 cliff retreats



    3 cliff increases in height



    4 high water mark



    5 wave cut notch



    6 wave cut platform
