Darth Vader in a poem? Uh..

Sometimes
after the dense smoke
of your last cigarette
has stifled my voice
into a Vader-parody

I realise how much of a bitch
I really am.

Stubbing out the cherry
of your Sovereign Black
on the soft side of my arm

I hiss and snarl
and treasure the soon scar.

You leap and hail
my foolishness.
And you don't see it
but I see it
the noose of lace
I have woven
around your neck

My mellow voice
darkened by love and hate
and my fingers
against your lips
tell you that being near to me
is enough for you.

There's pity-little affection for you,
my most favored instrument.
And because you don't see it,
I am most easily able to exploit it.

I walk on your coat,
laugh at your jokes,
and spin your fears into starlight.

In the morning,
you'll be left with
precious little in your wallet,
and even less in your soul.
