It's always batter to get prescription drug but in your case you can just visit local pharmacy and ask them about your symptoms they may can recommend you some medicinal which you can use temporary then visit Dr and get your med.
No. Antibiotics arn't openly available, because there's different for different, and if people keep taking it when they 'think' they need it: it reduces its effectiveness for when they DO need it.
I'm not sure if the Pharmacist can break you off some Penecillin or Amoxicillin or sumet, but it really isn't advised to eat any antibiotic without your doc knowing, because of medical history, side effects and dosage.......
"I'll let you break me off, but I won't let you break my heart"
I'm sure she has recovered by now? :s lol

"I am no angel... I like it when you do that stuff to me"
Forget antibiotics, I wouldn't take them unless I really had to.
Hopefully you're reovered by now.
but just some information for you to refence in the future.
yes it is legal to buy Prescription drugs. Importing in small quantities is legal in the U.K so long as you don't sell/ supply them!
Some googled info for you for clarity:
It is illegal to buy prescription-only drugs without a prescription or consultation in the UK, whether on or offline. This law currently does not apply to websites based abroad as long as you're buying for personal use. The same rule applies if you were to bring them through airport customs here.
There is currently a loophole in UK in the Medicines Act 1968 which means that although many drugs can be dispensed only after a patient has consulted a doctor, the consultation need not be face-to-face. Therefore quick online consultations with net doctors make such dodgy transactions legal.
