    He's came to Britain before. Did a tour and came to Glasgow, Croydon and other places as well which were sold out.

    He won't come again for a while. His demands are that there must be at least 10,000 people. Now where are you going to get that sort of audience in Britain? Everyone would have to travel to the one city like London in order to make those numbers up. He gets those figures coming to see him everyday in India and similar places though.

    Mmm yummy...

    But what he did is blur the lines between science and religion there. Religion is 'faith' and mathematics is 'fact'. Religion makes no excuse that it's based on faith, I should say Islam makes no excuse. And a believer is one who has faith in religion. Why should someone need 'faith' if it's fact? Surely someone who rejects fact is an idiot and nothing more? Because one doesn't have to have faith that 2+2=4, because it IS. Proove it, easy. Proof 4 beads etc. But how do you proove religion? Religious text? Well you need 'faith' to accept that. So we go full circle there.

    What I think he meant is 'we know that we have the one true religion, so why would we let someone teach something that we know to be untrue'. The presenter tried to say that yes, but all people of faith will say that about their religion. What he failed to say clearly is - if we accept UK is a Christian country and Saudi is a Muslim country, if UK Christians had the same belief as Saudi Muslims, to the point they said "you cannot open a Mosque here because we as certain as 2+2=4 that Christianity is the one true religion and we won't allow you or any other religion to teach falsity" - which is equivalent of what the Saudi's are claimed to say. What do you think the backlash and reaction from the Muslims be? They would complain about 'human rights'? Isn't that what the Christians/or whatever in Saudi are asking for? Think about that for a minute.

    So, what I am trying to say is we're lucky that the UK government don't treat us in the way that the Saudi government treats people from other than Islamic faith. And I guess here's the ultimate and final word, Zakir Naik gave a priest's answer to a political question, so he answered it as a priest and not a politician. So perhaps, it is important to separate politics from religion. So perhaps he inadvertantly answered the question i.e. Saudi government need to do that.

    Whatever - food for thought....
    ^ Great post. Thank you for sticking to the topic too.

    Zanjeer you haven't addressed what I said in my last post (post #30)

    The underlying question in there being why have you left Islam? What exactly caused you to reject Islam?

    Why don't you tell us all? Would be interesting to know.

    So shall we stop talking about Zakir Naik and start talking about zanjeer (again)???

    Listen folks... I have absolutely no problem with your "questions". Seriously. You can interview me as much as you want. I am happy to answer your questions and Scrooge's questions etc.

    BUT you need to create a completely separate thread entitled "interview zanjeer" or something.

    Am I being unreasonable here? Who wants to create a separate thread then? The last time I tried to do it over here the moderaters closed it for some reason.

    Or you can refer to this thread if you want CrazYt™... http://www.theasianplace.net/forum/r...tml#post644318

    No just that many people have asked similar questions off topic here relating to you already hence I asked you in this thread too.

    And no you are not being being unreasonable in requesting that a speperate thread be made in relation to asking questions relating you. But I'll make one now.

    I don't know why that thread was closed so I cannot comment on that.

    Thanks for creating that other thread CrazYt™. Sorry for picking on you as you obviously weren't the only one asking questions about me. Hopefully this thread can focus on Zakir Naik now.

    Zakat is the 3rd pillar of Islam where Muslims are supposed to give a certain percentage of their wealth to charity.

    We are generally told that zakat money goes to help the poor and needy, but the Quran also says that zakat can be given "in the cause of Allah" (verse 9:60).

    Now any Muslim who isn’t naive will know that a disproportionate amount of zakat money doesn’t actually go to the poor and needy. A lot of zakat money goes towards building mosques and madrassahs, producing dawah material to spread Islam and other proselytizing ventures.

    Sometimes, I guess it’s more important to convert the kuffar than it is to feed those starving kids.

    Zakir Naik is no different. Here he is shamelessly asking for your zakat money to fund his stupid television channel with it’s over the top special effects.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_GVhAQQLzk"]YouTube - Peace Tv ads[/ame]
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-RY0iYfOTs"]YouTube - PeaceTV Zakat and Donation welcome[/ame]

    Don’t you ever wonder how Zakir Naik manages to fund his expensive lifestyle? Who pays his wages? Who pays for his an his families food, clothing, shelter, and his travel expenses, hotels and venue hire? Who pays for the satellite channel that he’s launched and the wages of all of its employees? He isn't exactly funded by the government is he? He may have passed his medical exams but he isn't a practising doctor (and never has been I think). Spreading Islam is his full time occupation.

    Well the answer to these questions can be heard direct from the Zakir’s mouth.

    Forget giving zakat money to Palestinans or people in Dafur or Haiti or other poor countries... why don’t you give it to Zakir Naik so he can continue to “spread the message of Islam”.

    I agree, Some of his analogies are atrocious. He does generalise a lot too which weakens his arguments and occasionally comes across as arrogant.

    However, I do think he has some outstanding moments tho when he recites verse from the different holy books, he can be educational and is spreading some knowledge and that we have to respect.

    So this shows that he has memorised all the scriptures and has an outstanding memory, which is true. But he still talks a lot of nonsense.

    However much knowledge he is spreading, he loses all credibility when he lies, mistranslates, and presents completely illogical arguments (and he does this A LOT).

    Here's a funny video of a young guy taking the piss out of Mr Naik.

    Er, I actually LIKE all the Islam related threads (incase you didn't already realise). Why do you think I post in so many of them?

    Alhumdulillah you can post as many Islamic threads as you want. Just don't turn into zombies when zanjeer enters the thread and interrogates you.
