Yea I know of a few around here as well and there was one in Manchester who once asked me to join them but I wasn't all that interested in playing out at that time but now I think I may be at that level to try it out and these guys approached me and they're from Bradford so I thought "Why not?" might as well give it a try since I'm not doing much else with my life at the moment! It'll keep me out trouble anyway!

Yea it was obviously someone from SoulAsia (title of the thread + my avatar) lol so that narrows it down quite alot! Do you any of them guys? Or anyone from DesiFunk? How about DJ Dippa?

The gig we did the other day was at The Venue, near the end some random people from the club next door (they looked like Kurds) they came in and started dancing and some of the Asian girls who were already there were not happy at all, I thought they were gonna kick off!

They said it's wedding season so they will be pretty much booked up, I really need to get upto scratch by then, then I can do Mendhi nights and stuff.

Yea, they will be paying me (when I start doing them by myself) but I don't have my own equipment so they will come and set up and then come back to collect it all. I think for the very basic set, they charge £250, I'm not too sure about how much they pay the actual DJ though but I have to wear a uniform! I don't mind because it's black with a logo at the back and a small one at the front, but he said I have to wear white trainers and blue jeans but I told him, I don't own a pair of jeans let alone blue ones and I only have black trainers! So he said yea ok I'll let you off, aslong as you wear the polo shirt we provide!

apparently that pali (amritpal) fella is also a security guard. maybe that's why you didnt see him. he is supposed to be the boss? or owns the equipment.

They will know a few breakdancers I know aswel. Also they will deffo have known one of my good friends who also DJ'd , breakdanced, taught MCing etc DJ Dre (Yusuf) aka heavyshock- he died last year.His son still does it in the name of Junior Shock. Very good mates with the finest breakdncer of West yorksire Mickey, who also DJs and MCs, beatboxes did some stuff for Niche in Sheffield (holds U.K record in breakdaning move in fastest/most windmill in 1 minute) yes he's from bradford too.
