Ooops, no idea about that
But I loooove Kings College and might transfer for my next year, so lots of luck applying!!!
OooOo. What does this button do?
class SweetSuga {

void bankBalance()

char sweet;
}
how long is it supposed to be ?
i never bothered with Education, i've already got a PHD....pretty huge.........
Oh hai, you might see me around next year.
And I might mention at this stage, the computer science department isn't too great now, since many lecturers/professors and Phd students are leaving, majority going to UCL. The department is going to be focusing more on the "practical side" of computer science, so I suppose would be more about Software Engineering, Software modeling, Databases, Artificial Intelligence, Programming Semantics etc. If you're looking to do a Masters here in something majorly theoretical like Algorithm Design, Computer Architecture or Data Structures I wouldn't recommend. But thats purely from my opinion what is going to happen here in the near future. A lot of people that were going to do masters here have opted against it now, so take that into consideration. Obviously it really depends what you looking to do though.
And sorry I can't really help on a personal statement lol, but just thought I'd shed some light on the Issue.
Edit: It still is a good place to study, thats for sure. I didnt mean to sound too negative since I believe the topics researched here, even though they are quite limited, are taught very well.

Lol Zero, what if Sidra is applying for Journalism or something? Your information was useful for me though. As long as there is Software Engineering, that's okay.
Sidra - what are you doing a masters in anyway?

Oh yeah. LOL thats true. I think she did computer science as well so I kinda got excited seeing KCL so I automatically thought.
Yeah. My bad. But glad to have helped...in some way.
Awww, you know best then lol. If it is comp science then I'll get allll excited

It isn't difficult to do. What have you studied and what are you planning to study?

GOOD LUCK TO MY MAN DAVID GAYLE!
i ad no idea you had to write a seperate PS for a masters! some ppl get invited from the same uni 2 continue to do a masters degree after 3 years.
But um i have no idea as im only in first year! lol
I'll be applying for Computing, IT Law and Management. Doesnt really involve much programming stuff, focused around forensic computing, Internet security etc.
But il probably be looking in to applying at UCL too. but need to get one application done first before thinking others lol
Thanks for the feedback though
Sidra why are you doing a Masters for? What course have you studied prior to this? 2 reaons to do a masters:
a) you are topping off what you already have done because maybe you got a 2:2
b) it's in a different field and you want to squeeze it in a year as apposed to 3 years.
if you have a 2:1 or above degree it's pointless doing a masters in the same subject area.
If you have done a degree in I.T realted. You need to first establish what you want to do and what area of I.T you want to get into i.e prgramming, database admin etc etc. There are far better qualifications available to specialise in I.T than a masters. Focus on practical skills, get the various certificates under you belt with a good amount of experience.
But this all depends on how you answered the 2 points I made earlier.

^Ya, what he said is quite right.
But in the current environment it may be better staying in "education" for as long as possible lol.
I would recommend against a masters as experience is more valuable and a masters in general won't really help you until later on in your career and you will be experienced enough by then to not need it anyway
I've a done master in management after I did a degree in computer studies/web development. It hasn't helped me at all, although in future if I become a fully qualified teacher it may help me when I'm wanting to progress, but there's a lot of ifs and buts at the moment.
I didn't need to do a statement because I continued the education at my university.
I would search for some examples, there will be a lot about to help you. They mostly want your money so I wouldn't worry too much about it but you will just need to sound enthusiastic and give reasons why doing a masters is important to your path and future and why you think continuing education is the best option right now.
