Right now am probably going towards a 2.1 however I have the slight possibility of a first but all depends upon my dissertation grade when that is released. The course that I am currently studying in Information Systems

And reason to why I want to do masters as I want to go into IT Law, such as Forensic computing related jobs. This masters course focuses towards that and plus I am not having the best of luck with jobs at the moment and I don't want to be sitting around for a year when I could have done masters. I have had experience in admin related jobs over the summer and have another one for the summer coming up in june but no decent enough job. just temp at the moment hence doing this course will HOPEFULLY allow me to apply for the jobs that I would like to.

    a) you are topping off what you already have done because maybe you got a 2:2
    b) it's in a different field and you want to squeeze it in a year as apposed to 3 years.

if you have a 2:1 or above degree it's pointless doing a masters in the same subject area.

If you have done a degree in I.T realted. You need to first establish what you want to do and what area of I.T you want to get into i.e prgramming, database admin etc etc. There are far better qualifications available to specialise in I.T than a masters. Focus on practical skills, get the various certificates under you belt with a good amount of experience.

But this all depends on how you answered the 2 points I made earlier.

well if the masters course you want to do is going to specialise in the area of I.T you want to get into then go for it. I have also done masters and doing one now, but mine is just to keep myself busy more than anything else.

My one advice to you would be check what you need for your chose career path. Get your practical certs you need.

Personally I would get the core ones sorted first and then specialise in a specific role or job type eg DB Admin. As you will need a good foundation anyway to get to the a more specialised role.

if you get a decent grade in your degree I can almost gaurantee you will be earning a good salary. Info systems is a very good degree.

This is what my sister doing at the moment and she also has the same degree as you are doing:

    copying directly from her c.v:
