    Default Graduation Ball Dress!

Hi Gurlies or Guys (if you know alot about dresses)

I have my Graduation Ball on the 15th May and I cannot find the right dress
Either there too short, low, old style etc....

Does anyone know any good UK websites that sell dresses online or any stores?
I have looked around westfield in London and checked out few other shops but still cannot find what I want.

I many end up getting one tailor made if I dont find one soon ....

    Any suggestions would be helpful

    Have you tried Coast?
What sort of dress are you looking for?
    Pictures would be good.

    Ok.
    You want something 'Muslim'.

Well, most balls gowns are made either strapless, with straps or cap sleeved.
... You'd really need to get something tailored if you wanted it to look perfect.

...What my sister and nieces do: they buy a similar coloured long sleeve top OR a neutral colour (black/white) and wear it under whichever dress they've bought.

...If dresses are pretty but too short, they wear almost black almost skinny jeans.

I used to hate wearing tops underneath, so I'd go cutesy and wear cardis and shrugs, but like you said, sometimes it just doesn't go.

Just be a bit clever with how you can cover up, but still look pretty.

(I could waste my time talking about how if you really wanted to be modest, you wouldn't be looking for a ball gown in the first place, but it obviously doesn't matter).

If you look through old chunnis and stuff, sometimes, you can make sleeves from them to attach to your dress.
...but that's extra money, time and effort spent on a dress you'll probably only wear once or twice.

But wanting something "Muslim" isn't. I don't want to ruin the thread, but you don't have to make it seem that something decent isn't necessarily something "Muslim". Sidra could've been a Hindu or Sikh.

I hate looking for party wear sometimes. But recently I bought a gorj jumpsuit from a boutique in Leeds, it even has little sleeves and it's very retro. I lurve. And I bought a maxi dress from the same place, it's sleeveless but I'll attach sleeves myself so that's a good idea.

So a prom dress. My eldest sister bought a stunning dress from Coast and wore a likkle lace shrug, but it cost her a bomb and just wasn't worth it. So what I suggest you do is similar to the girl in the purple. We have the advantage of loose fabric lol, so get some, you have lots of time and ask to borrow someone's dress for the shape. That way you're controlling the fitting, length, shape, colour and style. I prefer dresses to be high at the neck, I think it's very sexy. In fact I'll send you a pic I got the dress from London, you'll looove it. Haberdashery shops have quirky little details you can add on too. Won't cost you much either.

Don't wear jeans with your dress, or leggings. It's not glam. If you find a nice enough long dress but it has no sleeves then wear a thin T-shirt the colour of your dress underneath. Sometimes a shrug takes away from the niceness of the dress. Or find a way to wrap your shawl around your shoulders and pin it, that looks real cute.

I'm always e-shopping, especially now that summer's approaching , so if I see anything, I'll let you know!!!! tried asos.com?
OooOo. What does this button do?

Here are some examples, 'cause reading back at what I wrote, it seems all too chavvy.

I dislike the grey dress on the girl, 'cause it doesn't suit her body shape... but it's quite pretty.

Oh, and the Gold Dress Girl is wearing leggings, which could be an issue, but when she wore her trousers, it just didn't seem elegant enough.

Rab C: my legs are wayyy too skinny to wear legging. skinny jeans make them look thin and leggings would look awful.. but I get what u mean though with the dresses wearing tshirts underneath or with leggings and jeans.
I have done that before or my birthday and other occasions too, il post pics in a bit
