    Default Learning programming

ive got an itch to learn programming and i need to scratch it bad.

    Is it easy?

is it possible to learn online, books, video tutorials?

i know theres different types of languages. which one is most preferred? is there a difference between the languages or do all of them have the same drift to it?

    scratch me.

    Generally theres four types of programming languages;

    Object Oriented,
    Procedural,
    Functional,
    Logical

In industry today, the latter two aren't really used as much unless there's a specialist working on some inner core of some software's business rules or whatever.

The former two, would be better to learn these days. Simply 'cause they're more useful and fun to learn.

I would suggest to learn C. I wish I did. Learning through the original imperative way would've helped me grasp Object Oriented languages much easier. But thats my opinion if you want to learn about hardcore programming.

The one these days that are most preferred would be: C/C++/Java. That was from knowledge of the market scene (in no particular order). Being a specialist in either of these can command an exceptionally high salary.

    LMAO. Can of worms bro.

I would say start simple - if you want to do little tasks that make your life easier like a lil script that will run on Windows start up and open up your favourite Website (AP) and play your favourite song (Take That - Babe) then make a couple of scripts with some Windows Batch files.

If you're still adamant you want to learn programming, start with Java. You'll need to learn Object Oriented Programming along side it because they go hand in hand like an Asian girl and long sideburns. Generally I wouldn't advise C to a beginner (I know this is the perfect way as Zero has already said, and is the way I learnt it lol) but it's unnecessarily difficult. Some of the shortcommings with C were addressed with C++ and again with Java. Java is the easiest to learn, I'd say.

Go to the library and pick up a good book and then follow it, chapter for chapter - TRY everything. Write write write write write it. But yeah, it's no easy feat to learn it, I'm sure Zero will affirm.

on a general note, Evil is right, go to a library, pick up a basic programming book and start from there. Its no easy stuff and so many little things you gotta remember, before you even think about writing a program.

Stylez your level of programming "logo" with that trademark turtle has no interest to Marni. Bloody LT 90 RT 90 indeed. Lol jokes.

Yeah EG is right, with programming you cannot learn jack shizzle by reading a book. You will need to DO it. And be creative with it. When the book says DONT do this DO exaclty that and see what happens. It's the way you'll learn it properly.

I'm not a strong programmer I admit. But thats only cos I haven't practised enough.

Do not even TRY programming on Linux unless you know how to program on windows. Linux is a pile of hurt when it comes to programming. Heck you need to program linux to even allow you to actually PROGRAM on it LAWL. (no joke).

What can I do with programming now?

I can do you a very nice HelloWorld GUI. Hell yeah.
