A quick question that was spinniing in my head.
In Islam what is the belief in terms of once we're all dead, will we know who our family members are in heaven etc?

Tricky question, theres a lot out there.
From what I know, yes we will know who they are. But we won't neccessarily be with them. It depends on the amount of "good deeds" you've done in this life; that determines what level of heaven you will be in. I don't think a person from a lower level in heaven would be able to go up to the higher levels, but those from higher levels can go to the lower ones? Not to sure on this but pretty much...
Heaven is a strange case though, if you think about it. 'Cause everyone's going to be the same age (I think it's between 20 - 35, can't remember the exact age). But because the souls mingled in the heavens before they were put in bodies on this earth, those that were family will definately recognise each other. Also those souls that we are friends with and connect with before the world was created ( I think) will also connect with the same souls in this world. It's as if they've recognised each other before.
Thats islamically speaking of course. Correct me if I've wrong (anyone).
^^ I wonder if the same applies for husband and wife? I understand they are joined in heaven together but at what point? Perhaps one has to wait for the other if their deeds are more / less?

Hmm very interesting topic indeed.
Remember Heaven is Heaven... and we all know we'll be among lovely people and lovely things.. anything we want will also be there without the whispers of Satan to bother us.
So.. you're in heaven now... the highest of all places.. and you want to meet your best friends and family...? But what if they've sinned and they're in hell? Will they still be granted the privilege to see you in Heaven and vice-versa?
Its a good question and i think it requires an answer from somebody with the right knowledge... but from my understanding.. i dont think it will be granted and i think Allah will just say something along the lines of... "They have sinned and you cannot meet them".
Imagine it was granted.. here's a thought i had.. I could just imagine a group of friends planning their lives on earth for the hereafter... one says to the other "'You' need to pray, not sin and make sure you go to heaven whilst we enjoy our worldy lives.. sex, drugs, money etc and when we die you can request to see us and save us from Hell." - lol
But what i do know is this. On the day of judgment you will all be standing shoulder to shoulder, all dressed in the same robes, all in white ready to be judged. You will not know one another, even your own monther. When you need help you will cry for people.. you will at first thought go to all your family members and close friends.. you will go to your mother and your mother will reply.. "I dont know you." you will do the same with a lot of people you think you know but they will not be able to help you and Vice Versa. There is a story to this which i have vaguely forgotten.. i think its when you need a good deed and everybody refuses you but one. I think that will be the time when you will be on your own.. and who knows what and how things will be granted when you're in heaven.
Glad you brought it up, i will need to do some further reading on this.

I don't think they will be joined together. If they are then it will be of a mutual choice.
For some reason, I don't believe that there is a need for husband and wife in heaven. Thats just my opinion after reading how people that have been granted heaven will be organised. Since the soul will be in such a state of bliss in that time, I don't think it would matter. Also I believe that the husband and wife are just for this world only. "Created in Pairs" so that you stay with one partner and have your satisfication with one partner at any one time; to keep society decent and multiple-partner free? Again that's just a belief of mine after my own reading. Seems pretty viable from my viewpoint tbh.
Good topic here.
After reading the above about partners and stuff how would it work inheaven, learly we cannot give answers ony our opinions but i think similarly to what Zero said as males will have hoori's so what happens with that situation?
Just a thought whilst reading posts.. as if partners were to meet each other or be granted tosee each other in heaven then there would be no need for hoori's.
OMG De Ja Vu, No! it's INCEPTION!!!
Simple rule.. TS asks you.. You don't ask TS..
Well i dont know if the husband and wife area is correct when you go to heaven @Zero and Shelim. - Again this is just my opinion as I myself dont know the full answer to this. However what i do know which contradicts this husband/wife business is when we will be granted 7 virgin wives. Maybe our wives will be among the seven or maybe we'll have 7 virigin wives + our own wife? = 8?
Remember its heaven so... i doubt our wives will have jealousy, greed, envy in them as those things are only worldy feelings. Im thinking all our wives will be happy together?
I'm not too sure about the bliss thing either.. otherwise everything will be bliss.. we'll just close our eyes and float in sheer bliss. We wont have to eat, drink right? But from my knowledge we will eat heavenly food, men will be able to wear gold and enjoy themselve to feel the pleasures of bliss.. etc.
Whats a Hoori?

I think houris are an option though? The guy can choose them or his wife. I for one witll definately stick with my wife if thats the issue. lol.
You will only be granted 7 virgin wives if you are a martyr @ Kayz.
Tbh, I don't even think there would be an option in heaven for sex either. Since again, that is just a worldy thing. Remember Heaven is just for the souls. Our human bodies have been left behind on Earth right?
Good question. I did hear that both partners would be united but with different deeds thats a toughy.
Again a good question. For people that haven't revised the Holy Book I don't know about them but for people that have they can choose 10 people or its predetermined who those 10 people are? Far as my family is concerned 10 people ain't enough lol but thats been written in stone.
I think we all be standing alone dealing with our deeds. Standing shoulder to shoulder we'd probably be pointing fingers at each other that he made me do this or that. Its just you and your deeds.
There will be partners in the next world. lol. But you're partner will stand out from the crowd of 'hoors' etc. Keeping society decent? Thats a thought.
Sure you know there will be hoors whether we need them or not. lol.
Did you come up with 7 randomly? Each individual will probably have more than the next man. Greed, jealousy and all that shit won't matter. Bruv in this world you bang some next woman besides your wifey she won't be happy. Fact yeh? Next one I don't think she'll say jack? lol. Just my thoughts. Perhaps it would deffo be away from others. Im not sure.
Its an option like you don't want wings but chicken strips lol. Its a thought. Thanks for clearing that up about the 7 wives business. Sex is there bro but none of the bodily fluids n shit. Wonder how thats possible but then again its heaven lol.
Long ting but I had fun making this post. Haters.
From what I know (could be wrong) the husband can have his wife in jannah only if she has been good, pious, if she is worthy of it. He'll have her there alongside 2 hooriya, what I've heard is that the wife will share her husband with them. They say this is unfair because why should a woman have to share her husband? But like it has been mentioned previous posts you don't have those worldly feelings of jealously, anger, hatred etc.
As for the women it's similar, if her husband has been good and pious he will be in jannah with her. However if he goes to hell she can choose any man from jannah. When you're in a place that it is said you won't long for for your husband/wife if they are in hell. Nothing but joy.
But hay Allah knows best eh.
Inshallah we'll all be granted jannah (Ameen)
However if he goes to hell she can choose any man from jannah.
Just wow.
I tried to edit but I was too late.
Anyway I forgot to add that I'm not sure if there is a choice between your wife and hooriya. The hooriya are meant to be irresistible. So will you actually be able to not have one?
Also to add, the women who do enter jannah will have a much higher status thaan the hooriya.
^There we go, questions answered!
Incredible, a good book to read is "The Day of Rising" by Leila Mabruk. One of my personal favorites, in the Islamic genre of course. 10/10 for me. The book explores the soul's journey after death.
Thanks for that I am very intrested in this 'soul journey'
I might read this book you mentioned.
