Reading dua on thursday meal?

Every Thursday I eat at my girls house in the evening. I've never really learnt my duas etc. But they read a dua as do they read at my parents. Does anyone know what you're supposed to read? the reason is because some kid asked me what am i reading? or what is he supposed to be reading? i almost had a shock with embarressment, as I didnt know what to read either.

I think there is a dua before and after meals.. when do they recite this dua? before or after?

I recognize the dua and say its authentic even though I randomly picked a source. Mainly the 1st and perhaps also the last..
