    Default Surjit Bindrakhia

Tribute to one of the greatest Punjabi folk artists ever

    Surjit Bindrakhia
    1962-2003

is widely believed to have been one of the best Punjabi Bhangra singer in history. He is known for his hekh in which he sings a note continuously in one breath. He has been included in the Guinness Book for that record. Bindrakhia is also known for the great bolis (lyrics) of many of his songs. His hits include Dupatta Tera Satrang Da, Bas Kar Bas Kar, Hit Geetan Da Guldasta, Tera Yaar Bolda, Lak Tunoo Tunoo and Jatt Di Pasand. Surjit is considered to have the greatest voice in bhangra history. He died of heart attack on November 17, 2003 in his home in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Ji Nagar (Mohali), Punjab. A tragic moment for all Punjabi people. Who used to listen 2 his tunes? wat do u guys think of him? wat wer u fave tunes?

are you talking about "meh kal tak nai rehna"? that song, which was ironically talking about death, was on his last album.
