Bangladesh Test cricketer Manjural Islam has been killed in a road accident.
Reports suggest Manjural, a left-arm spinner, was on a motorbike which was in a collision with another vehicle in Khulna. It is believed a local cricketer, Sajjadul Shetu, was also killed.
Twenty-two-year-old Manjural has played in six Tests and 25 one-day internationals for his country.
Manjural, whose last international appearance was against Kenya in Fatullah in March 2006, was not included in the squad for the ongoing World Cup in the West Indies.
He was due to join the Bangladesh A team later this month for the one-day series against Sri Lanka A in Sri Lanka.
"The distressing news reached the Bangladesh cricket team while the players were just getting up from bed in Trinidad," said a statement on the Bangladesh Cricket Board's website.
