i'm sure it can b done but its still quite expensive as blu ray aint the most common of cd's and i'm sure there's some sorta protection on them

No it can't be done.

There is no "mod" chip or firmware (hardware-level software i.e. BD-ROM) flash available that will allow copied games to play on PS3.

Even if there was; you'd need a Blu Ray RW drive and Blu Ray Writable discs, which a decent one costs around £10 each. That said at the moment it's not even worth copying it...

Rather, you should join a Blockbuster Video-esq online rental service that allows you to rent a title indefinitely, so you rent one and finish it and send it back, for around £10 a month? That way you can dip your finger into loads of games, but you never own any LOL..... Well, you're just better off buying the Platinum Editions for cheap....
