Greatest Influence

Up to today, who are the 3 people who have had the biggest influence in your life, who's been the biggest influence in getting you where you are?

Obviously the prophet (pbuh) so he's not really in this list.

So

[2] Grandfather
[3] Uncle

These guys really shaped my life and what I have become is of their handiwork mostly.

I owe them credit big time.

Well first greatest influence would be prophet Muhammad (saw), when my dad used to tell me all these stories about what great things he had done it always had an impact on me... i think thats why im a (sort of) kind person lol. Im not mean intentionally and i dont hold grudges... (but i think this one doesnt count as im sure for most muslims he is our greatest influence.)
So other than Prophet Muhammad (Saw).... these would be it:

1. My dad, probably one of the greatest men i knew, he's definately made me who i am...
2. My mum, who influenced me on how a woman should be...
3. This lady, she's this Fultoli Saab (that died a few months back) his sons wife, My aunt, she came into our house wearin a nikaab, and when she went into my mums room, she took it off... i've never seen such a beautiful woman before, but not only that, the way she was, was so amazing, she was so kind and caring and... wow... so there you have it

3s a bit hard.. as people mentioned the Prophet pbuh influences me everyday in different ways but 3 that have made a lasting influence:

1. My Mum - My mums influence has been very.. vicarious(word i picked up in psychology.. not sure if it even works in this context lol).. as in shes never sat me down and said 'these are manners, this is Islam, this is respect'... just by being in her presence and being her son i've picked it all up without even noticing... she was the one who taught me arabic so i'll always be indebted to her for that.

2. My Brother.. the laughter in my life.. the cutest thing ever. He is 12 and to me he is still cute lol.. I've 'brought up' my brother I think, more so than my Dad and in some aspects, my Mum... I've seen him grown from this cute little thing to this annoying, angry machine and i've loved every second. Me and him are not just brothers but more like friends... we've talked and talked and talked, we have a communication and an understanding and our own 'level' so to speak... i love it and I hope the day I have to leave him and let him lead his own life, I have influenced him for the better.

3rd is very hard.. it could be my Dad for the right or wrong reasons... but I have to give a special mention for one of my best mates... He was one who made me see the world differently, beyond what we read in the papers, he taught me to always look at the bigger picture.. his view on life is always questioning, always wondering and its great to have someone like that... his amount of knowledge and logic is immense and I have learnt so much in the 7 years i've known him..

as mentioned above for every muslim the greatest influence is our prophet PBUH.

apart from the prophet, mine would be:

My Mum. she has been such an inspiration to me, shes a strong person who always finds a means to go on no matter what situation she is put in. She works hard and always has done and i see people in a difference light because of her. She's taught me discipline, respect, honor and the will to chase all my dreams.

My Dad. Hes a perfect role model when it comes to hard graft, charity and giving to others. my kindness and softer side comes from him as he is never angry and always looks at the brighter side of life...

3rd is a hard one, and so im gona have to think about it and get back to the thread!

Hmmmm. Intresting thread.

Like previously mentioned it would be our beloved prophet (pbuh). Theres so many situations where I think of ...'what would he do if this happened'. Keeps me right. So he's my first influence.

* Mom - Theres no words to describe what shes done for me. I wouldnt beable to repay her back even after my last breath.


I really dont have anyone else in particular. my friends have helped me alot though.
