newbie here..some relationship advice please? - The Asian Place - Desi Forum

hi guys, new to this forum so be gentle!!!

anyway i wanted some relationship (or not) advice from, well, anyone!! sorry about the essay!!!!

the situation:

me: early 20s, her similar

the story is ive always known her as her family and mine are family friends-ish, and we both live locally, and went to the same primary school back yeaaaaars ago! ... being pakis, we both have never interacted with each other, although she knows my sisters and i know her bros..

ive always thought of her being a decent girl, and someone who i think would be good "marriage material" (LOL) but not really ever gone beyond thoughts...maybe i thought her of being out of my league?

soooo to my surprise one day she adds me on Facebook.... im thinking wayhay!!

then the next time shes on we get chatting on how we know of each other but we dont know each other !!! general chit chat, and she throws a couple of compliments my way but nothing too drastic...

weve spoken a few times since and shes just confirmed my thoughts, nice girl etc etc

Now i want to take it further and have thought of two options of doing this:

Either

tell her that shes always been in my mind/shes a nice girl/im fond of her and that i wanna get to know her

OR

just keep chatting to her hoping for something more? the only trouble with this though is that IT may never happen.. i mean i have nothing to lose as i didnt expect it in the first place!?

any advice is good advice?

oh wait, in terms of keeping it real on AP, man go and get her before you lose her and see how it goes.

i think you should jus take each day as it comes....

if u say something to her u may risk it back firing and her not wanting to talk to u....

u've only jus started talking to her, so dont throw it all in in one go... take ur time

Don't overdo do it Casanova. Take it slow, don't rush things.

Get to know her, then maybe do lunch/coffee and go from there? just don't go out on a loaded gun though nyahhh im saying!?

make sure it doesnt stop! find out things about her, what she likes, doesnt like..hobbies and all that!

find things to keep it going!

I agree, get to know her a bit more, chat more on Facebook, and then gradually ask her to do lunch or whatever.

just talk to her like you`re doing now. get a hold of some tickets to a footy game or a concert etc n den just ask her if she`d like to come wid u and some mates, then see where things go from there

Just carry on as it is for a few days when shes online.
Then suggest going for a drink for a catch up since its been a while.
I think getting tickets for something is a bit full on

Don't do the "getting tickets n taking her out" thing yet.. cos she'll just think "why isn't he taking one of his friends?" .. then she'll know you're up to something.

Keep it casual for the time being... you don't have to be a great conversationalist, you guys don't know each other - there's tonnes of things for you to talk about n get to know!
