So for my birthday me and my friends thought it would be fun for us to stay in a hotel.
All my friends are smokers or social smokers apart from two.
So thought id reserve six smoking rooms and one non smoking room for the two that dont. Figured they wouldn't wanna sleep in a room where people were going to smoke..

I told them the plan.
Were going to pre drink before we go out in one room so were all in one room together.
Kat(non smoker) was like ' all your mates smoke dont they?!'
So i told her that i had got her and trish a non smoking room. She seemed a little ungrateful and began to tell me how she didn't want to be around people smoking again because she hates it and how shes strongly against it. Which is fair enough. That's fine. But , im not banning smoking .
she was kinda like ' UM...OK'
I said to her that i could have a room where everyone could go into when they want a cig but that would mean there's a risk everyone could end up in there..so her and trish would be left alone in that room! lol

Just not going to work right?!

Trish said she didn't have a problem putting up with it for a night.
But Kat wasn't having any of it and said ' I know its your birthday but im not going to stay'
so i told her meet me out.
And to be honest i dont want her there if shes going to make comments like
' ugh dirty smokers' or in a middle of a convo when they pull out a fag for her to rudely walk march away ,infront of my friends who she hasn't met yet.
Its embarrassing! and she does react really over the top!

My friends think shes being harsh. And that she should stop being a madam for one night and tolerate it.

But its a hard one for me.
Smoking is disgusting to people who dont smoke and can understand they dont want to be around it.

But then again my friends have made me wonder, is she being abit of a madam?
Shes not even coming for pre drinks or the after party because of it..

Discuss?

Surely, whatever she thinks, she could give it a rest for ONE night? Seeing as its your birthday etc. I mean, you got her a non-smoking room, that should be enough.

I mean, when you're goin out up town, you can't exactly get away from smoking, can you...

That's what i was thinking but the thing is , you can.. Because its no smoking everywhere down hear unless you go outside.. So you can avoid it.

i have friends who smoke, but when they do smoke, i normally just stay near the window, i dont mind.
she should not be silly on your birthday.

Well she ain't gonna die in one night. I get where she's coming from too but like I said it's your birthday so how can she demand things?

jellys and guji got a point..its one night..and its your night...it wont kill her in a day..
if she dont like it the worst u can do is not tell her to come if shes got problems with it...

on the other hand maybe u could tell you mates not 2 smoke for one night..coz again..it would be only for one night??

Nah she will come , i know she wont let me down. Just bit bumbed she wont be around for pre drinks cos thats when everyones guna be there and i want her to meet all my mates!
